Nice traditional hotel which is at a good location. However, the really small beach strip is not allowed to be used. The whole place is really old and needs lots of maintenance.

A beautiful traditional hotel in a prime situation

This is a beautiful traditional hotel with lots of memorabilia from famous people who have stayed there. It is spacious and comfortable with many choices of restaurants serving a variety of foods. The only downside is in wet weather many outdoor tables/seating aren’t usable. We particularly enjoyed the high tea and watching the criminal lowering of the flag at dusk. All staff members are courteous and friendly.

Convenient for Fort Railway Station less than 10 minutes by taxi. Dining options in the hotel weren’t great for us for lunch and dinner with limited vegetarian options but breakfast was outstanding. It was fun to stay in this elegant grande dame once but I wouldn’t do it again. Our room was fine, but has definitely seen better days. The food was mediocre, and service at both the bar and dinner super slow. Staff all perfectly friendly.
