The location is really the best, you come to the hotel and use the code to let yourself in. Then you use the self check in kiosk and you grab your room key. Once you get that, you climb the stairs to your room. Unfortunately The hotel has no elevator so be ready for that. The room was very clean and size wise sufficient. Now to the negatives. Amenities said it included parking for vehicles however after purchase an email stated that is was off site parking, which was basically paid parking structure. The water pressure in the shower was extremely low, Also the temperature was super unpredictable, it was either too hot or too cold. And would stay the same.

It was not obvious enough when booking that there is no elevator, we were on the top floor carrying heavy luggage. There is also not a 24 hour concierge so when our key stopped working at around 11:30pm -12am, we had to contact the staff through whatsapp and make the climb back down and up the stairs to get a new keycard.

The room layout and staff were great but the thing that let down the whole experience the most was how echoey the staircase was and leading to the sound being heard in the room. For any light sleepers this is a huge problem as I experienced 3 times in the night where people came in screaming and I heard it from the 4th floor, almost in panic mode as people at one point sounded quite horrified. The bin was not emptied either

The hotel was very nice overall. The rooms were very modern, clean, and well maintained. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the old town, Alter Markt and the Rhine just a few steps away. The breakfast was very good, served in the adjoining cafe. The only minor issue was the lack of full time reception staff which made check in and out a slight hassle.

Everyone was very nice but I had to climb 86 stair by myself to get to my room. My fault that I didn’t realize there was no elevator. I ended up breaking my foot. But my room was nice, including the balcony. I do a lot of research when I pick out rooms and hotels, and I was shocked - it wasnt what I thought I booked through Expedia.

The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of the major Koln tourist attractions. The room was impeccably clean and very well designed for the limited space. I understand it’s a VERY small boutique hotel, but Reception could be a little more present or easier to reach/accessible when a guest needs to inquire about check-out or luggage storage. Overall, the value for the location makes it a top notch choice and highly recommended for a short stay.

A very cute boutique hotel, safe, clean, and very comfortable. Absolutely amazing location - was just a 7 minute walk from the main Cologne train station. Plenty of places to eat and drink nearby - close the cathedral, walking along the river. Very appreciative of the staff who held my bag while I went hiking my first day. I got back very late but was able to check in no problem because they gave me my card when I arrived. I would absolutely stay here again. Perfect for the kinds of people that love unique accommodation and won’t be bothered by the hotel not having an elevator. I didn’t opt in to the breakfast but it sure smelled good, so I will add it to my stay next time. Thank you!

Overall a good stay. Very central, good breakfast, easy access to Koln HBF. It was exceptionally hot in Cologne during my stay and so the first couple of nights it was uncomfortably hot at night. Staff were able to fashion up a bit of a solution for a more comfortable sleep for my last two nights. Not really their fault though. Be prepared for climbing stairs to your room, not a place for less abled individuals.

Very uncomfortable stay

No lift and no air conditioning. Weather perhaps unseasonably hot. Room stifling and fan did nothing at all to help even with the window open, Hotel well positioned and central. Rooms nice apart from heat.

Great location and the room was very comfortable. The breakfast was NOT worth the price - I don’t know if there isn’t enough staff or enough food, but the offerings were quite meager by the standards of a hotel breakfast buffet and when items ran out they were not refilled. Part of the problem is that the staff was also serving customers for the cafe, and that was obviously their main focus - you’re better off skipping the hotel “breakfast” and just ordering from the cafe menu instead (and it will be cheaper).
