This hotel is very clean, specially the bathroom, they provided all the toiletry and hair drier. But there are too much noise from cars and motorcycles which gave us a very bad sleep night.

The staff at the hotel were great upon check in and check out. This is more on me for not looking into the area, but it was very noisy as far as traffic from the main street/ train nearby, and the area was not good. I would not fault the hotel for that. But, I only stayed one night for a work event the next day, and I had two incidents. I had someone knock on my door twice within the first hour I was in my room, around 10:00 p.m. I did not answer but looked through the peep hole and saw a man in a hooded sweater that I did not know. As a female staying alone in a city I did not know, I was terrified. Thankfully he went away after the 2nd knock. Then at about midnight as I was trying to finally sleep, a man and woman in the room next door start screaming at the top of their lungs at each other. The man was yelling expletive's at the woman and I hear what sounded like loud thuds and banging on the wall. Maybe they were physically fighting, It was certainly possible. I'm sure other ppl at the hotel could hear this. Finally after about an hour of this, I heard the man leave after slamming the door and stomping down the hallway. I got NO sleep because I was terrified. By the way, this was a Wednesday night. I picked this hotel due to the location, proximity to my work event down the street. However, I would strongly advise against staying here.

Hercor Hotel is a great value and pleasant spot. The hotel is a modern gem in working class Chula Vista. Parking, both covered and open, was easy, plentiful and secured by card access. The location is very near the SD Trolley transit station at H street and I5 making for an easy trip to the popular sites. I learned how to take the Trolley and bus to La Jolla and Balboa Park. The staff were all helpful and friendly generous with free bottled water and fresh fruit. On offer for an extra fee, is a cooked-to-order breakfast in a lovely second floor dinning room lounge. The four floors of this compact hotel are served by the fastest elevator I’ve been on in a while. The room was smartly stylish but small and without a fridge. The king bed was comfy and the bedding of good quality. I was annoyed by the fact that I had to stick a room key-card into a holder by the door to get the lights to work and keep it there. I walked out without my card more than once in my four night stay. Get an extra. The mini split AC was a nice quiet feature that I enjoyed. I have visited Chula Vista many times and found the Hercor my favorite so far. The neighborhood features many dining options in easy walking distance: popular taco spots like Tacos El Gordo; various Asian food spots; coffee and a terrific Starbread Filipino bakery. Starbread features hot from the oven little sweet bread rolls that became our favorite treat. There is a good sized mall at the end of the block and a Costco nearby.

Not what I was expecting really tiny room. At 3am there was loud people banging and keeping us away in a room behind us and I had to call front desk twice for them to tell them something. Complimentary fruit is just apples and some crappy packaged cookie. You have to pay extra just to have breakfast here. The bed sheets weren’t clean and when housing came they left the same dirty sheets and just made the bed never staying here again for what I paid it was a rip off.
