Northwood Motor Lodge is absolute 5 Star from its appearance when you first drive in. Modern motor lodge with pristine gardens and lawns. Unit was spotlessly clean in every aspect. Equal to that and the creators of this environment is Peter and Tessa with their warm and friendly disposition. Most definitely now my first choice accommodation stay in Christchurch. Airport shuttle to and from the airport, Peter made this transition so easy and no fuss.

Peter and Tessa were incredibly helpful and welcoming, also very communicative prior to our arrival, which is always appreciated. We mostly appreciate their kindness as it was my husband's birthday on the day we arrived and I ordered some slices of cake from a nearby bakery, which they accepted and kept ready in the room for us when we arrived. The rooms are very clean and everything looks new and well-maintained. We took a walk to a recommended restaurant nearby for dinner, and Peter was very kind about showing us the way and offering to drop us off. Tessa maintains the garden and flowers beautifully too! We only wish we could stay longer :)

Peter went above and beyond. Picked us up from the airport without any issues, extremely accommodating and warm. Helpful with directions and recommendations on what to see and do. A quiet little oasis not far from Christchurch airport, they offer a shuttlebus service, the room was spotlessly clean, bed was super comfortable, the owners are delightful. Easy walking distance to eateries and supermarket, self catering is an option in the kitchenette. Lovely garden setting.

Lovely property for what it is. Seemed to be a family business run with pride. But there’s nothing nearby for eating or shopping. I had to drive a couple km for that. And when I did laundry (I did appreciate having that ability), I couldn’t get the dryer to dry the clothes. My suite was full of wet clothes laid out to dry with a portable heater running overnight and me getting up in the night to turn the clothes over so they would be dry by morning. Still, I may stay there again at the end of my trip. It’s near the airport.
