Restaurants or pubs that are within 5 minute walks are ‘Smiths’ which is a burger and cocktails brasserie, ‘The Willow’ which is a traditional pub, ‘The Croft’,which is a restaurant, ‘The Mousetrap’ which is a boutique pub or ‘L’anatra’ serving traditional pizza. There are many more including Chinese takeaway, Indian takeaway,Fish and Chips takeaway to name a few!.This cosy cottage boasts plenty of traditional charm with characteristic features. Set on three floors the property has exposed beams , reclaimed and restored oak flooring downstairs with huge inglenook fireplace, logs provided for one fire during winter months only, guests can purchase additional logs, kindling and firelighters from Londis supermarket, a 2 minute walk away.Exposed honey coloured Cotswold stone walls but with on demand central heating and dual fuel traditional log burner for those cosy evenings . Several restaurants offer a mixture of cuisine all within less than 2 minutes walk. Despite the bustle of the town all you can hear is the birds as you relax with a hot drink or glass of champagne in the courtyard. Many of our guests have commented on the fact the cottage is secluded but is a few steps away from the town center. Check out the history of Captains Cabin, deeds date from 1663, check out English Heritage from search engines to find out more about this and the adjoining set of quaint cottages , part of which is said dates back to medieval times. Beautiful quaint cottage
Gorgeous quaint cottage in a fabulous village, parking to the front and right in the centre, easy access to everything. The cottage was clean, cosy, warm and well presented with comfy beds. It’s a compact cottage but has everything you need for a short getaway. Logs for the wood burner and a bottle were also there on arrival, thanks

Totally charming. Stairs a bit tricky, but only if you are using the second bedroom. Location can’t be beat.

Excellent location close to centre of town and walking tracks but tucked away from “hustle and bustle”. You can hear the bells from the church which adds to the overall atmosphere. Peter is an excellent host, and very prompt to respond to any queries. The welcoming bottle of milk and wine was appreciated after a long day of travel. Would definitely stay again if we ever have the opportunity.

    Lovely place....lovely town
Captain's Cabin was a lovely spot, removed from the bustle of what can be a touristy town, but with easy access to everything one would want. Excellent.

    Charm Galore
Our stay at Captan Cottage was everything we expected. The cottage exudes charm at every level. It also provides you with a great example of what’s like to live in a grade 2 property (e.g., narrow challenging stairs). Location was also spectacular being right in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water. I highly recommend this property for anyone wishing to experience the Cotswolds.

    Beautiful, well-maintained property
Very ideally located, carefully selected decor and easy to communicate with the owners. The stairs are challenging as described by the listing. Anyone with any type of mobility issue needs to be aware of the fact that both bedrooms are up very narrow steps.
