While the property is conveniently located for the purposes i need it for, i was I was unfortunately disappointed in my overall experience there. The check in staff were excellent, the process was fast and they were very charming, but now I know why. I was offered a room on the ground floor…and that was the beginning of where things went wrong. I really should have known. Let’s talk water pressure—there was none. Flushing the toilet meant pushing down the lever and hoping to god that the toilet paper actually went down—it was iffy at best. I watched every time waiting to see if this was the time I needed to call for maintenance…good times. I was NOT informed that my room was directly across from a conference/ballroom, so imagine my surprise when I wake up and there are people milling about the hallway making noise to go in? My favorite was the crying baby in the hallway that was there for over 2 hours…good times there. Before that I should say that being woke up by housekeeping 3 hours before checkout was fun, if I pay to stay at a room until noon—I will stay until noon. Knocking on my door every 20 minutes is not going to make me go any faster…and since I had the “come back later” sign on the door handle obviously meant nothing. I do have good things to say: each queen bed had 4 pillows and the sheets/bedding was clean and comfortable. The wi-fi was strong. Overall if you don’t care about things like water pressure and plan to leave early, this place is for you.

I had a very convenient room on the first floor by the exit door where I was able to park my car and could see if from my room. Traveling alone I like being easily accessible to my vehicle and it make much easier about bringing luggage in. I didn't bring my dog this time but I was very impressed with the friendly pet welcome around the hotel. I travel to Charlotte very often and will be staying here again, with my dog.

Not the best stay at a Doubletree...
Unfortunately, there were a few issues that I encountered on my stay. First, the wi-fi router did not worked sparingly in my room, so much so where I needed to be switched to another room. Secondly, there was a strange odor in the hallway on the 3rd floor as I approached my room. Next, after I was moved to a different room, while the wi-fi worked slightly better, the ceiling in the bathroom had water damage and had beginning signs of mold to show up. This was very problematic, especially for those that may have respiratory issues. Finally, only days after checkout did I realize that I was overcharged for the room. I initially paid for the room via hotels.com, yet I was charged again by Doubletree. All in all, this was not one of my best experiences. While the customer service was above average, the condition of the property can and will end up being a liability if they don't fix things up soon.
