Hello Jeremy,Thank you for taking the time to review the Belmercer Motel, we appreciate all guest feedback, the Belmercer Motel also notes that this is the third review that you have left in regard to your two stays with us.The Belmercer Motel feels that it is important to clarify the information in your review once again, you booked a Deluxe Queen/Twin Unit for two people only, you then proceeded at check in to state that there would be Two Adults and One Child staying, you were advised of the extra cost that would be incurred on your first check in. You proceeded to make another booking two night later and still made the decision to only book for two despite having three people and despite previously stating your own awareness that the default search is for two guests only. When booking via a third party online booking agency such as Wotif, you are required to enter the correct number of guests including adults and children, by doing this you ensure you are being shown the correct room rates and the correct availability for the duration of your stay. The Wotif website makes it very clear that you are booking the base rate for two adults only, additional guests incur additional costs, as all goods and services must be paid for. Kind Regards

However, in this situation we feel it is only necessary that the motel clear up some misleading information in your review.You state that you have been using Wotif for many years, yet you appear to willingly ignore the booking procedure and fail to add all guests that will be staying over the course of your stay. The Expedia Group who run Wotif have made the booking process extremely easy for customers allowing you to add the number of guests (adults and children) at the time of searching for a room.Whilst you did select a room type that sleeps three guests, It clearly states online that base room rate shown is for two people only, so if you fail or choose not to include all guests on the initial search you will not be shown the correct rate. The Belmercer Motel did not “help itself” to an additional 55.00, you were advised at check in that you would need to pay for the additional person, and you stated that as you would not be leaving until 10 am the next morning you would attend reception at check out and pay the owed amount. Instead of doing this you left the key in the room and left the property without paying, as such you were rightfully charged for the extra person. The Belmercer Motel feels it is only fair to point out that you willingly choose to re-book at the property two nights later and once again made the decision to book for two guests only, you then attempted to hide the third person from the staff member on duty and when said staff member approached you and asked you to return to the desk and immediately pay for the additional person, you became rude and aggressive within the conversation.When you choose to incorrectly book for the correct number of people, you are in fact stealing from not only the property but also the on-line booking agency you have booked through. As you are using products and services that you have not paid for. You would not book a flight for two people and then except to seat a third person on the same flight at no cost just because there was an empty seat on the flight.At no point did the staff member on duty state this happens at the property all time, the staff member on duty was simply stating that you yourself appear to have a history of booking incorrectly when using the on-line booking service Wotif. We at the Belmercer Motel, hope that in the future when using an on-line booking service such as Wotif or Expedia, you correctly input the number of guests including all adults and children that will be staying at the property, to ensure you are shown the correct room rates and the availability of rooms that will accommodate you all.
