Mimi’s Palace is a self-contained modern 2-bedroom ground floor apartment in Santa Marta – very handy for the airport at Varadero, if you have just arrived in Cuba or are leaving shortly, but Santa Marta itself is a lovely little town with some nice restaurants and bars, a great beach and a marina – well worth a longer visit if you would prefer to keep away from the big hotels out on the peninsula. The apartment is clean, comfortable, air-conditioned and well-equipped - microwave, kitchen equipment, good kettle, etc. The beds and the towels are huge. The owner, who is very friendly, lives upstairs, but the ground floor apartment has its own courtyard garden with a fountain, and we were visited there by the owner’s delightful little dog – a definite plus! Breakfast was really good.

Very nice host goes above and beyond to help anyway they can

We had a lovely time staying with Isis. Her and her husband are truly lovely people. Their home was immaculately clean, they were friendly and welcoming without being overbearing, and the location was excellent. We were able to enjoy the beach which is only a block away and felt safe in the area even at night. The location is close to town and great restaurants. We had everything we needed in the home and Isis was always ready to give you whatever you needed. They were so sweet. It felt like you were staying with family. We loved lounging in their garden.
