Nice comfortable hotel room set against the backdrop of a quiet, country lodge. My room had everything I needed for a restful night’s stay. The bed was comfortable and the shower was warm and provided ample water pressure. The hotel was well located just off the A1 and for me to meet friends for a run in the east of town the following morning. The one thing which I was a bit disappointed by was the lack of communication around check in and check out. I arrived a little after 10:30PM and had extreme difficulty finding my room key as it was not communicated in advance how check in would work. Furthermore, in the morning I had a similar experience with check out and leaving the key in an unlocked box did not seem secure. If the communication and planning around check in and check out could be improved it would be a 5/5 stay! Many Thanks

Beautiful gardens, pretty rooms and helpful staff. Breakfast too pricey so went into Cambridge on the park and ride. Apart from a small bar of soap there were no toiletries, the bed was comfey and the room had a lovely outlook over the garden. Very reasonably priced.

Great choice for Cambridge

We were really pleasantly surprised with our stay at Rectory Farm. Bit of a faff with check in as the email went to junk mail but was able to figure it out after a quick call to the hotel. Our room was in the main house and afforded a beautiful outlook over neighbouring fields. Bed was really comfortable and the decor charming, in-keeping with the style of the house. The shower was hot and powerful enough. We enjoyed a hearty full buffet breakfast the next morning which was well worth £16 a head. We opted to grab Ubers to and from Cambridge which were just under £10 each way. Absolute bargain and no wait time at all. This was a last minute visit to coincide with a Stansted pick up and we were delighted with our choice. The price point is fantastic and I would certainly stay again on my next visit. I am well travelled and five star city centre luxury is my go to but no complaints for Rectory Farm whatsoever. It does the job very nicely and a stroll around the beautiful gardens was the perfect end to our first Cambridge trip. Thank you!

Dated, worn, and dusty. Safety issue.

Good value for Cambridge, if you're willing to take the bus into the centre. I stayed in the annex, which I had assumed would be more modern, but was actually very worn and dated, with poor (internal) sound insulation, and highly perfumed smells. The (double) room (11B, 12B, 13B and 14B are all the same size) was cramped. The main light fitting and (bathroom) heated towel rail were excessively dusty. The heated towel rail was broken, and a clear electrical safety hazard - it was off, but the switch appeared to be in a public hallway. Oddly, there was a (locked) door from the hallway into the en-suite bathroom. A minor complaint is that there was a Bible in the room. The location does get a fair amount of noise from the M11, but it isn't an issue with the windows closed. You do hear everything in adjacent rooms though.

Our Short Stay

Great location and lovely well kept gardens. Our room was smaller than expected and access to the power sockets was very difficult. The breakfast was excellent.

Unfortunately our room was opposite a family that had 2 rooms and they kept going from 1 room to the other, each time letting the doors slam. This was happening til quite late in the evening & a couple of times during the night, waking me up. So although the place itself was lovely, lack of sleep marred our stay.

Very convenient location, close to M11 (5 min drive) and Park and Ride (10 min walk) but noise wasn't an issue as it was constant in the back ground, almost white noise. Rooms good, clean and with a bit of character. Grounds of the house lovely with avenue of trees to drive up to the building, and walk clearly signposted to local pub (20 mins walk, mainly through fields and woodland). Very pleasant stay.

This is a lovely property, but there were two fairly significant issues. Reaching the property for confirmation on check-in day was an issue. There was no answer until about 5 pm. The other major issue was the poor quality of the mattress in main house room 4. I haven't had a bed that bad un any accommodation since a run down Washington D.C. Holiday Inn in 1977. Pretty unacceptable.

It was clean but there was no room service. I was a bit lost as i was so tired and wanted some guidance. The other thing was the neighbours had cranked their TV upto the max till 2 am. And there was no one from whom i could seek some help to ask them politely to turn volume down. There wasn’t an iron in the room, but it was mentioned that there will be. So I depended on that which was not a good idea. All in all, it wasn’t a bad stay, as room was clean and bed was comfortable and room affordable too. But I think room service should be there round the clock.
