We left as soon as we saw the room. Walking to the room you could see other doors the were duct taped together because it looked as if someone tried to break in. Our beds and the carpet were held together by duct tape. The whole place smelled like horrid BO. A staff member mentioned that they wouldn’t let their family stay there either when I returned the keys and asked for a refund. You couldn’t pay me to stay in the dumpster fire. I can’t believe the place hasn’t been condemned and they are legally running.

Unacceptable conditions

This hotel was filthy with torn carpets that were duct-taped together, garbage around the entrance, spray paint on the room windows, bashed in doors that were duct-taped together, missing tiles, stained and broken furniture. We could not stay here and checked out immediately! We did NOT receive a refund for the $220 charge! This hotel should not be on hotels.com! Do not reserve a room here.

The place is old and furniture/carpet are beaten up. But most importantly, VERY DIRTY!!! As soon as I arrived, I had to eliminate using toilet paper balls of hair and dust from the bedroom and the bathroom. The mosquito screen was broken and the air-conditioning … it was running, but not sure it was actually cooling at all. The only thing going for it, location and extensive parking.

The floor ofour room was filthy, you could literally see the grim on it. It turned our feet black instantly. My husband got in the shower to wash the dirty film off his feet and proceeded to slip because of the yuck from the floor on his feet.

I really felt bad for the dedicated employees trying to manage a bad situation. I understand that it may be difficult to find adequate staff, but the condition of my room was beyond unacceptable. If I could give one recommendation it would be to sell the building to a non-profit, then convert the rooms to SROs(Single Resident Occupancy) for low-income residents.

A Total Disaster

The trip was terrible. A total disaster. ........ I was shocked to find out when I checked in, that I would be financially responsible for MY ENTIRE WEEK'S STAY up front. I specifically booked this hotel with the understanding that I would pay upon check out, as I always do during my other stays across America, and the world. ......... I had planned to use my current funds to pay for my trip's day-to-day expenses, such as food, entertainment and sight-seeing, while paying for the hotel stay using my direct deposit paycheck which was set to go thru later in the week, the day before check out. .......... After trying to get an accommodation, unsuccessfully, and the managers Caitlyn and/or Vanessa refusing to talk to me, I fled the hotel the next day, and had to abort my trip, after having driven 635 miles, one-way, from California. ....... On top of that, the toilet seat was cracked almost in half, in my room, the chair next to my bed was urine-stained, and the elevator sounded like it was going to explode. ...... It was a bad scene for everyone involved.

Air conditioning did not work in the room and was replaced with box fans, poop was still in the toilet, linens did not look clean, breakfast was a joke there was literally nothing to eat a hour before they were scheduled to shut down, sketchy part of town!!!

Horrible Stay

I recently had the misfortune of staying at the Red Lion in Pocatello and subsequently at the one in Boise. While the Pocatello hotel left much to be desired due to its age, the Boise hotel proved to be an even more disappointing experience. In fact, I have stayed in certain motels in Los Angeles that, despite being located in rougher neighborhoods, offered better accommodations. Upon entering our room, we were greeted by darkness and dinginess. When we turned on the light, only a strip of it lit up at the opposite side of the room. The room's temperature felt sweltering and humid, yet the thermostat was set to 60 degrees with the switch already turned on. I requested a fan to help cool my wife down and later asked for a second one for myself due to the unbearable heat. The floor was visibly dirty, and the beds appeared worn out. The limited number of outlets made it challenging to plug in essential devices like a bipap machine and charge our phones. We had to unplug the lamps sitting on old nightstands to use our devices. At this point, we had not yet used the shower and were apprehensive about what to expect. Seeking respite, we decided to visit the pool area, only to find it in a deplorable state. The patio outside our sliding door was littered with trash, including plastic bottles with cigarette butts, and the floor seemed not to have been swept in a while. The towel cubby was empty, and the pool water had a green hue, discouraging us from swimming.
Showed up Sunday, left Tuesday and it still looked nasty
Borrowed 2 nasty fans to keep cool in a 60 degree
Thermostat shows 60 degrees, but it felt 85 degrees
Mosquito killed in the shower wall, who knows how long it's been there

Horrible! Read the reviews!

This hotel has been being used as a homeless shelter since 2020. There is no transparency on this matter whatsoever. They advertise these beautiful, clean rooms but everything is filthy and damaged or broken and the air conditioning barely works. This is false advertising and I feel cheated. They should not be allowed to advertise as a regular hotel. I was expecting the same great conditions I had experienced before at Red Lion hotels but this was a such a letdown, maybe more of a shocker. AND, even in this condition, they're still charging $160-$190/night! I will never stay here again.

The room was way better than the lobby and hallways led us to believe, but it was still a million degrees in there. Bed was comfortable.
