This property is all about the location. Access to the village shops and dining is what its all about here. The hotel itself is in need of some work as every floor has a “out of order” sign on something. Our room while clean and well equipped had its shortfalls. The AC couldn’t really keep up with the heat of the day, but was aided by chilly evenings with the sliding door opened up. The toilet in the room is not fully secured to the floor and felt like it was going to topple over when getting up off of it. Never-mind that the toilet was so low that it felt like it was designed for a child. The room was clean and the bed/pillows were comfortable. TV microwave and minifridge worked well. Staff was pleasant, although they didn’t alert their guests that a third party was going door to door to check the fire alarms. Despite the shortcomings, we’ll be back because of the walkability, but really hope they address their maintenance issues.

Paid for breakfast in advance and it only comes with a drink and a choice of pancake or French toast, eggs and sausage are extra. I ordered an extra juice that was $5. I ordered a side of sausage that was $5. Of course none of this includes a tip.

We loved the location, they also accommodate us to stay in a room that was a little bit more fresh since the a/c in the whole hotel was not working. After staying I read the reviews and it seems to be broken for a while. The pool and the hot tub was ice cold!

Oktoberfest stay

I loved that the location is just steps from the village—so many things are within easy walking distance. We were there for Oktoberfest and didn’t have to walk far to catch the free transit to the convention center. There’s even a German deli with beer across the steeet. Those were the big wins. The front desk staff were kind and helpful, and the property overall was clean. That said, it’s definitely dated. The bathroom towels were super thin—think 1-ply—and way too small for an adult (they barely wrap around you), so bring your own if you can. I was hoping to enjoy the pool, but it was small and awkwardly placed in the parking lot, so that was a no-go. The AC wasn’t working during my stay, though they did provide fans. The property could use some updates and repairs, but nothing was truly awful. It felt like I was visiting in the off-season; I imagine the place comes alive in the winter. There’s even a little on-site restaurant and bar with live music at night, which was a nice touch. Overall, it’s not as cute, modern, or comfortable as other Big Bear spots I’ve stayed at, but the unbeatable location in the heart of the village makes it worth considering—especially during the winter months

The hot tub was not working. One of the reasons I booked this place. Last night there, a loud and obnoxious group of people came back to their rooms yellling, and making way too much noise from 12am to 2am. No security???This used to be my favorite hotel in Big Bear. Probably won't be back.

The service was good. The air conditioning was broken and there were ants in our room. I also asked about the hot tub and was told it was a cold plunge. That is weird. Seems more like they just don’t want to heat it. Had breakfast at the restaurant and it was decent. Service was very good there. Prob won’t go back. For the price we will go to an air b and b

The expedia site indicates that breakfast is included in a stay on this property. This seems not to be the case. There is an attached restaurant, which is under separate management, and during our stay there they did not open for breakfast (although we had been told that breakfast would be available there from 7:00 AM.

There was an issue with check in that was likely a combination of issues between the hotel and Expedia that clearly had frustrated the hotel employees and guests as generally tensions were elevated during check in and it was not the most pleasant experience but it was able to be resolved. The AC was not working in the entire hotel and it was a hot weekend though it cooled down pretty well at night and was quiet enough to keep the windows open. The hotel location is great! Very walkable to things and ample parking which was appreciated. Generally pleasant stay.

Nobody’s on the same page …

1. Air didn’t work. They said they’ll bring a fan to the room and never did. 2. TV didn’t work. One person says they’ll send someone up. We went out for several hours for dinner return to it still not working. Call down again they say it’s still not working properly. 3. The restaurant said they closed at 10 (on a Friday night) but when we walked down at 8:45 pm they said the kitchen closes at 9. It was so annoying because the hotel was a perfect location to everything but now we’d think twice before booking here again.
