I had a smooth check in about 6pm. Once I settled into the room, and got back from dinner and showered, the shower handle wasn’t installed properly and moved suddenly turning the water scalding hot almost burning me.. we went to the front desk to changed the room because we’d be there for 3 nights.. the next room we were given, the adjoining room door didn’t lock, so they had their facilities person check it. You guessed it, we got another room. The next room, seemed fine except that the fire place didn’t work. Part of the reason why we booked this place. So our fourth and final room was fine except that we didn’t get the king bed we paid for, instead we got a very uncomfortable queen bed. We settled with this room because it was nearly 10pm and we were just tired. Not to mention the front desk person was very rude after the second room on. She made us feel like we were the problem but the rooms weren’t maintained properly. Also, no AC. The rooms are all heated. Breakfast the next morning was different. I expected a continental breakfast but breakfast was as the adjoining hotel restaurant. You can use credit toward the a la cart menu or choose a set plate (1 egg, hash brown or cottage cheese, bacon or sausage, and bread). It served its purpose. The staff there were friendly. On the last day, housekeeping was knocking on our door making sure we were going to check out, mind you we still had 30mins until checkout.

Front desk was on break and got stuck in traffic and we waited 45 minutes to check in. The electric fireplace was not working properly. Staff fixed it and the pilot light kept going out. The sink stunk like something rotten. It was an okay stay near downtown.

STAY AWAY! Having stayed at this property multiple times over the years, and in this room specifically several times, I was astonished at how much the property had fallen apart since I’d last visited. What was once among the nicer properties in Big Bear, is now more like an overpriced, expansive Motel8. Fireplace that doesn’t work. Sink that doesn’t work. Heater that doesn’t work. Tub too filthy to step foot in. Bed that's a brick. Pillows like oversized kitchen sponges. Oh, and not enough towels and blankets. But what really set this place apart on this trip was the nighttime front desk staff. Either too lazy or ineffective to handle drunken hotel partiers causing a ruckus for hours, stretching into the morning, between the shouting, the arguments, and the cheering along to foot races down the hallways, hotel staff sat on their hands and did nothing. Suffice to say everyone – kids included – were woken up repeatedly, making for an awfully pleasant next day. And the best part of all, when I called down to the front desk to ask that something be done, the response I got from the man at the front desk was to dismiss my complaint and hang up on me. To say I’ll never stay here again is an understatement. I’ll vocally tell those around me to make sure they don’t ever make the same mistake.

The room was noisy all around. The lobby wasn't ready for us or anyone staying there. They were out of coffee and hot chocolate, the host was always on a break and only one person taking care of the desk. I went to check out 3 times, and they were taking a break, so I had to wait for them. Horrible customer service. I won't recommend to anyone or ever come back.

Very disappointing stay. No AC — the room was unbearably warm all night, making it impossible to sleep. Extremely limited staff and absolutely no service whatsoever. We tried the restaurant, but the smell was unbearable, so we had to leave. Paying $500 for one night for this experience is completely unacceptable. Not worth it at all.

Pros: Room was spacious and clean. Love that it had a Microwave, Refrigerator and coffee maker! Location was close to town. Parking was plentiful! All basic amenities were provided. Cons: Thin walls, AC was turned off (for the winter) and we were not informed, but once we found out, we opened the window so it was fine.
