We had experienced two major issues then the phone did not work so I could not call the front desk. First the window closer did not work and the window started slamming starting at 1:00am. It finally stuck open in the morning and left cold air in the rest if the stay. The phone did not work so I could not inform them. Then I went to take a hot shower to wake up and the shower knob broke off and I wasn’t able to shower. I have photos of both

If could give a zero I would. The place had a live roach, was filthy, had dirty spots on the carpet, the sink was broken, there was mold, it was smelly and the receptionist hung up the phone on me when I expressed my concerns. This was the worst place ever! I had to leave and find another place.

1st sent us to a room that was already occupied, then 2nd room was cold as ice and took forever to warm up, the shower curtains would not close and water went everywhere on the floor, they only had one set of towels for a room for 2… should I go on? Bad experience!

We had to change rooms twice to get one that was acceptable. The front desk staff was friendly in helping us. The bathtub faucet in the 3rd room dripped but we lived with it.

🚨 Complaint Summary: American Inn of Bethesda (Room 417) 🚨 To: Hotel Management & Corporate Customer Relations The stay at the American Inn of Bethesda (Nov 22, 2025) was severely over-promised and poor value, comparable to a budget chain, not its 3.3-star rating. Corporate intervention is urgently needed for systemic maintenance and staff training failures. Key Room Conditions (Room 417) - Unacceptable Hygiene/Maintenance: * Critical Sanitary Failure: Visible blood splatter on the walls. * Clogged bathroom vanity sink. * Missing main towel bar and face towels. * Visible damage to cabinet doors. Service Failures - Rude & Unhelpful Staff: * Staff demeanor was rude, dismissive, and inappropriate for hospitality. * Parking Incident: Staff offered a rude, unhelpful response regarding the $20 daily parking fee, providing zero proactive assistance (e.g., directing to known free public parking). The only "solution" offered was a refund if no spot was found upon return. Conclusion: The experience combined unacceptable room conditions with substandard, rude service. For what their charging its disgusting the elevator for the 5th floor was broken. The hallways were gross and smelled. The room felt like the kinda place u see in shows where they exploit ppl. If ur that down bad and can't pay anymore go for it but if u can just pay like 20$ for a room do it. They only thing I liked was the location

Staff tried their level best. Bed sheet had spots of filthy stuff They said they don’t have any other room Staff came with a bed sheet to change, they didn’t had a blanket so they gave me 3 bed sheets, I was working on laptop suddenly a cockroach popped up!! The toilet flash worked half way, you need to try multiple times. I was there just for a night, I just passed the night somehow, never ever.
