A very pleasant one-night stay at the Ibis Basel. Located within walking distance of the Basel SBB station, and easy access into the old town with the free transport card provided. Friendly and helpful staff and compact but clean room.

The location is a little out of the way but totally commutable via light rail. The breakfast was a nice assortment, although not gratis. The rooms are so basic and depressing. Also after a day, nothing starts to smell nice with no ventilation, plastic-doored bathroom a shower, low AC, and no possibility to open a window.
