Bad hotel

We were given a room full of bugs in the bathroom. When we complained, it seemed like a common issue. A cleaner came in with some spray, but we were left in the same room. By morning, the bathroom was swarming with hundreds (!!) of bugs and insects. Only after raising our voice at reception were we finally moved to another room. The location is far from the city center, and the surrounding area feels quite unsafe and uncomfortable in the evening hours. Definitely not ideal for anyone looking to explore or walk around after dark. The only good thing about the hotel is the pool. No compensation was offered for the inconvenience.

Stayed at this hotel for one night prior to our flight. Was ok, but unremarkable and on the pricey side for what you got - Athens has better to offer. Not the most centrally located and pool was so windy they weren’t allowing any umbrellas up, which made it unpleasant in the blazing sun. They need higher glass screens to remedy this or bolt the umbrellas down properly. Would also be good to learn how to make a cocktail - a mojito needs more than 3 mint leaves!

We thought the Stanley was an excellent, central, and clean hotel in Athens. They had a beautiful rooftop bar/restaurant and wonderful breakfast buffet. Overall, we were very happy with our stay there.

Hotel itself was very nice; rooms were efficient and nice; restaurant and pool area were excellent; the neighborhood that the hotel is located in while near the main attractions that bring you to Athens as a tourist, feels unsafe, many abandoned buildings, graffiti, etc. we stayed in our hotel and took taxis to area attractions. We did not venture to walk in the area of the hotel.

The property is amazing and so is the staff. Breakfast buffet upstairs had a great amount of choice. We Could have stayed at the pool each day with the amazing views. The outside doesn’t look appealing but it’s close to everything
