The hotel’s location was excellent—right in the centre and within easy walking distance to everything you need for a stay in this bustling city. Breakfast, though limited in selection, was tasty, the coffee was excellent, and the staff were attentive. Check-in and check-out were friendly and uncomplicated, and we appreciated that the hotel was able to store our bags after check-out.
Unfortunately, the room itself did not meet the expectations of a four-star property. It was dark and felt dingy due to the very small curtain opening, and overall cleanliness was questionable (when moving the bedside table to look for a power outlet, it was dusty behind there). There were no outlets or USB ports near the bed, which was inconvenient. The flooring—made up of plank-style panels—was lifting and peeling, especially near the bathroom. The bathroom was functional with good water pressure, but had cracked tiles, visible mould around the shower base, and poor lighting, making it impractical for tasks such as applying makeup.
The lifts were also tiny, slow, and very dated.
Overall, the hotel served its purpose for a short stay, and given its central location, it worked well as a base for exploring the city. However, the room standard and facilities fell short of what we would expect from a four-star hotel.
