Modern in the centre of Airlie but very small room and balcony we had to sit sideways to fit. Very pricey for what we got. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Overall the stay was really good. Staff were very helpful, the view was what I was expecting, the rooms were very clean. The only thing I didn’t like were the pillows, they were too soft and lumpy leaving my neck quite sore.

The rooms are NOT soundproof. From 1.00am to 4.00am we were kept awake from the music and noise coming from the room beside us. I went down to reception and complained, the music stopped but the noise was still unbearable. They were sitting in the balcony and noise tracks. Slamming doors, swearing etc. it was disappointing that after reception received a complaint there was no other checking in on that room. On checkout I mentioned it and they said the manager was going to be made aware. We paid extra to stay on the beach side as we knew the town side would have street noise. Little did we know we would have issues with the next door occupants.

After receiving complaints from you that night, our staff went up to the room and checked, and advised the guests to turn off the music. We went up and advised the guests to turn the music off again 5 minutes later; and we have confirmed that they did turn off the music after that. We value your feedback, and definitely have taken it on board. And your feedback has been passed on to the manager who will be in contact soon.

Convenient location to most services. Friendly staff and that's about it. Rooms are very small, nowhere to store your bags if staying longer than 1 night. Advertise parking as $10 per day, this is actually the public car park next to the lagoon in Airlie, you take the risk of car damage, theft, the list goes on. No restaurant or room service available. When booking I was prompted for a smoking or non smoking room, as a smoker I booked smoking. On arrival and after checking in and paying I was informed the motel is completely non smoking, which includes the balcony. Completely misleading, disappointing and will not be back.

Dear Steve, First of all, we would like to thank you for your time and leaving a review for us. We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your time with us. Unfortunately, The Deck restaurant which is next to the hotel does not really belong to us, room services is a topic that we have been actively discussing with The Deck restaurant, however at this stage, we have not reached an agreement. Although room service is currently unavailable, the hotel is happy to help making restaurant reservation for our guests, and The Deck restaurant offers take away as well. It is possible to order food from them, and enjoy the meal in room. Our guest services team would help delivering the take away meal to your room. As for smoking, we apologize for the confusion. Since the rooms at Heart Hotel and Gallery Whitsundays are rather compact, smoking at the balcony inevitably would affect the guests nearby who prefer a smoke-free environment; I believe that you were prompted for a smoking or non smoking room from the pre-arrival survey which we designed to get more understanding of our guest's need, so that we can explain better the smoking policy of the hotel, and to point out the designated smoking area, so that our guests do not run the risk of being charged for smoking in the room. We will look into modifying the wordings to prevent further confusion in the future. We do appreciate your feedback.

Was a little disappointed we were meant to have a ocean view spa room but the A/C was broken they put us in a corner room with no view and no spa but charged us the same. The room was lovely but was no view. We were also really looking forward to long spa baths.
