Holidays To Adachi

If you imagine cheerful cherry blossoms, brightly coloured temples and the even brighter neon lights of the big city when you think of Japan, a trip to its largest city is in order—but the crowds and prices don’t have to be.

With our Adachi package deals, you’ll be just 12 km north of Tokyo, putting you close to the hustle and bustle but far enough away to kick back and relax in peace. Adachi has plenty of parks, shrines and entertainment of its own.

Things to Do in Adachi

Located on the banks of the Arakawa River, the city’s Urban Agricultural Park has more than 50 types of cherry trees, creating a kaleidoscope of colour in the springtime. Didn’t book your Adachi holiday during cherry blossom season? You can still get your fill of tulips and cosmos (no, not the drink) throughout the year, plus learn about urban farming, attend a gardening class and see the bonsai collection.

Looking for love? When you book Adachi packages near Sojiji Temple you’ll be easy walking distance to this famous Kanto shrine, known for its love-granting amulets. The temple has festivals year-round, including a summer wind chime festival and winter Dharma doll burning (nothing sinister, just giving thanks for answered prayers), so you’re sure to be entertained even if you’re not in the market for a partner. And if all else fails, you can always make fishy faces with new friends at the koi pond.

Shopping, Dining & Nightlife

You’ll be glad you saved so much yen with Wotif’s cheap Adachi packages when you step out of Kita-Senju Station, in the south of town. Just west you’ll find everything from electronics to book stores, plus local food stores. Grab a daifuku (rice cake with red bean paste) and browse, then head to a cooking class for the best souvenir of all—recipes you can make over and over. Sojiji Temple is another great place to find souvenirs like incense, glass wind chimes and dried squid (for your coworkers—yum!).

Daifuku cakes are just the beginning of your Japanese food journey, and you don’t have to go far to complete it. Once you’ve worked up an appetite at the mall, everything from ramen (and not the microwavable-packet kind) to Japanese barbecue is just steps away. Look for the busiest place and dig in. No idea what the menu says? Just point!

Holidays in Adachi are jam-packed with arts. Nishiarai Culture Hall is home to orchestral performances, plus a planetarium. If you’d rather “play” around, one of Tokyo’s major playhouses is near Kita-Senju Station. And if you really want to dance ’til dawn, check out our Tokyo holiday packages for a night or two—the Metro can get you there before you can say “kanpai!” (cheers!).

What’s Next?

A getaway to Japan is one of the best cures for the travel bug, and Adachi is your new home away from home. Mix and match hotels and airfares with Wotif’s packages, then add on one of Wotif’s Adachi car hire options to make sure you get plenty of snaps (and the stories to go along with them).

Stanford decently friendly, though clearly overwhelmed by the crowds. Make sure you leave time for check in, because the entire lobby fills. The rooms were a bit worn and dated. The TVs were old and had only a few channel options and no streaming apps. Bathrooms were decent, though the toilet paper ...

The dinning options saved the experience, but the bathrooms were a dirty deathtrap for my elderly mom.
