"Great hotel easy access for trams, bus or car "
The Hotel facilities are fantastic and the staff made us feel really welcome, they were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is exceptional and caters for all tastes - well worth adding to your booking. We were initially worried when we arrived because the Hotel Lobby is not what you would expect for a Hilton. It feels a bit like an alley way rather than a hotel lobby, but the rest of the facility is very good. Location wise it is central with easy access but located opposite a couple of strip clubs, which is great if that is your thing - not our cup of tea though. That said, this did not detract from our experience we had an awesome time and the Hilton played a big part in creating a great holiday experience for us.

"Good location and close to beach"
We spent 10 days at the apartments and found the rooms very nice and serviceable and we enjoyed the location and ease with which we were able to get to shops and eating places. The indoor pool in winter was a hit with our family who went there everyday for atleast an hour. The staff were very friendly and helpful and always looked to be of assistance. We used the in house movies on a few nights when we relaxed and bought take away and enjoyed the selection available. If we were to be critical then some areas of cleaning were overlooked. EG At 6 foot plus my eyeline was equal with the gap between bottom of cupboard and top of microwave and it was obvious that dusting was not ever done in this area, my wife who couldn't see it was horrified when she stood on a box to see it. There were other examples where this occurred but it was not obvious but perhaps should be expected for a rating such as the residences have.

"Adventure for kids and a relaxing break for adults"
Can't wait to go back with the kids, so many activities to do and didn't manage to get them all done. Everyday they had something to do and the kids club gave the adults a break of 4 hours to get some shopping and massages done. Staff were very friendly and resort had everything we needed for a great holiday. Close enough to the beach and the main strip, we will be going back. Only thing would have been if the pool was heated as well as the water park as the temp was low in QLD when travelling and this made it hard to stay in there to long. Most people were crowded into spa. Rooms were comfortable but no Hilton but perfect for families. I would recommend to any of my friends and we will be back

"Will definitely stay here again!"
Had a great stay at Artique in a one bedroom ocean view apartment. Resort facilities are excellent and whilst it was too cold to make use of them, we will definitely be returning. The pool and BBQ facilities are outstanding. Our room was fantastic and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Security at the resort was also fantastic and as the weather was unusually cold, it was wonderful to have the Foxtel Premium Package included. It was great that we could easily walk into Surfers Paradise and the tram is right at the doorstep making transport very easy and no need for a car. The only downside was the bed in our apartment. It was very uncomfortable to sleep on and we both ended up with very sore backs. However, our stay overall was wonderful.

    History

Surfers Paradise, or ‘Surfers’ as the locals call it, started with one man and his hotel. In 1922, Jim Cavill purchased 10 hectares of land in an area then called Elston and built The Surfers Paradise Hotel on it. In 1933, Cavill lobbied to have the town’s name changed from Elston to Surfers Paradise. The flux of tourists in the 1950s resulted in the first high-rise apartment blocks, and the 60s and 70s saw the town become well-known for surf culture and partying. In the 2000s, a slew of new nightclubs and businesses joined Surfers Paradise and strengthened the town’s standing as a mega-popular tourist destination.

    Things to do

Surfers Paradise really does have activities for the whole family. The beach is part of the Gold Coast’s 52 km of coastline, and it’s surrounded by gleaming buildings that tower into the blue sky. Go surfing, or take a lesson if you’re new to it, or go for a swim or long walk. Just behind the beach is Cavill Avenue, the main street of Surfers Paradise, and you‘ll probably recognise the large ‘Surfer’s Paradise’ sign that stands at the beach’s entrance. On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights, head down to the Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets to browse over 100 markets stalls for bargains.

If you feel like hitting the town, Surfers has plenty of nightclubs with bright lights and pounding beats, as well as stylish cocktail bars, live bands and DJs. No matter what kind of night you’re after, Surfers can provide.

You’ll also find some one-of-a-kind attractions: Infinity is a journey into a futuristic maze filled with enchanting ‘worlds’, Ripley’s Believe It or Not has baffling illusions and sights, and Dracula’s Haunted House is a five-storey haunted funhouse.

You’re also not too far from theme parks like Dreamworld and Warner Bros. Movie World, as well as Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

    Shopping and dining

Like everything else in Surfers Paradise, the dining offers plenty of choice: upmarket seafood in a sophisticated setting, cuisine from all around the world, beachside cafes with al fresco tables so you can wake up with a strong coffee and seaside views. Shopping centres like Chevron Renaissance and Centro Surfers Paradise (which also has a TimeZone) are good places to shop. But if you really want variety, catch a bus to Broadbeach and visit Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, a five-floor shopping complex with more than 300 stores.
