"Relaxation Suite"
Stayed fri-mon in a relaxation suite with access to the executive floor. The room itself was nice and spacious. Nice views of the beach. Having access to the executive floor was the best- continental breakfast (cold meats/boiled egg/cereal/pastries etc) afternoon tea (cake and coffee) and evening canapés (dim sum/cheeses/cold meats/wine/beer/soft drink etc). Salt grill was nice, but service was bad and perhaps a little over priced. Room service was ok but they didn't bring us what we ordered (no soy milk/wrong cereal/no toast etc). Air con was temperamental and we had a few hot nights. Ticking/dripping noise coming from bathroom drain which happened constantly. Yes you can hear the noise at night from revellers outside but didn't bother us much, not enough to keep you awake. Bad TV reception, well at least the picture quality was poor. Excellent location, close to everything and free wifi if staying in the suite. We would stay again, but happy we only paid $350 a night through a sale with wotif. There's no way we would pay the full price of $500 a night. It's just not worth it!

"Our wedding night "
We had a beautiful night in a 2 bedroom room with an ocean view on the 21st floor. The staff surprised us with a little treat in our room on our wedding night. 😃 we had our 9 month old son with us and he slept peacefully in the perfect temperature of his room. The view was fantastic, everything was clean and comfortable and the room service was delicious! We will definitely be back for our anniversary! Thanks Hilton!

"Everything was wonderful, except for wind noise"
As I enter the room, I heard loud wind noise coming from the entrance door. Called the receptionist, and the solution was simple: place the wind stopper under the door. After that, everything was perfect. The room was amazing, uninterrupted ocean view, all the amenities is clean & top quality. However, there was wind blowing from the door between the room and balcony, even though the door was completely shut. I end up having to sleep on the sofa, cause the wind and its noise was too disturbing for a good night sleep.

Quick check in with friendly staff who were happy to provide information and always smiling. Free parking was a bonus and a room upgrade definitely topped the check in experience. Room was great! Top floor with an amazing ocean view. We were late to check out but no issues and we were off after enjoying a wonderful weekend. Thanks Crowne Plaza!

"Great stay!"
We are a family of four who took two adjoining rooms on the 19th floor. The rooms were spacious and immaculately clean and the beds were really comfortable. We paid extra for parking which was very reasonable but due to the central location we didn't need to drive anywhere during our stay. Breakfast wasn't included in the tariff however it was worth the additional cost as we were treated to a wonderful breakfast buffet with a great variety of eastern and western food. The hotel also offered late 5pm checkout on Sunday for a fee which is great to extend a weekend away. The only negative was that WiFi would not connect in one of the rooms which drove my son to distraction, and one of the televisions has a very dodgy remote that made switching channels nearly impossible and drove me to distraction!

Surfers Paradise, or ‘Surfers’ as the locals call it, started with one man and his hotel. In 1922, Jim Cavill purchased 10 hectares of land in an area then called Elston and built The Surfers Paradise Hotel on it. In 1933, Cavill lobbied to have the town’s name changed from Elston to Surfers Paradise. The flux of tourists in the 1950s resulted in the first high-rise apartment blocks, and the 60s and 70s saw the town become well-known for surf culture and partying. In the 2000s, a slew of new nightclubs and businesses joined Surfers Paradise and strengthened the town’s standing as a mega-popular tourist destination.

    Things to do

Surfers Paradise really does have activities for the whole family. The beach is part of the Gold Coast’s 52 km of coastline, and it’s surrounded by gleaming buildings that tower into the blue sky. Go surfing, or take a lesson if you’re new to it, or go for a swim or long walk. Just behind the beach is Cavill Avenue, the main street of Surfers Paradise, and you‘ll probably recognise the large ‘Surfer’s Paradise’ sign that stands at the beach’s entrance. On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights, head down to the Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets to browse over 100 markets stalls for bargains.

If you feel like hitting the town, Surfers has plenty of nightclubs with bright lights and pounding beats, as well as stylish cocktail bars, live bands and DJs. No matter what kind of night you’re after, Surfers can provide.

You’ll also find some one-of-a-kind attractions: Infinity is a journey into a futuristic maze filled with enchanting ‘worlds’, Ripley’s Believe It or Not has baffling illusions and sights, and Dracula’s Haunted House is a five-storey haunted funhouse.

You’re also not too far from theme parks like Dreamworld and Warner Bros. Movie World, as well as Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

    Shopping and dining

Like everything else in Surfers Paradise, the dining offers plenty of choice: upmarket seafood in a sophisticated setting, cuisine from all around the world, beachside cafes with al fresco tables so you can wake up with a strong coffee and seaside views. Shopping centres like Chevron Renaissance and Centro Surfers Paradise (which also has a TimeZone) are good places to shop. But if you really want variety, catch a bus to Broadbeach and visit Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, a five-floor shopping complex with more than 300 stores.
