WOW! 10 of Australia’s most epic hotel pools

Summer is coming in hot and there’s nothing that cools you down like a dip. If you’re planning a summer holiday, a stay with an amazing pool is a must. So here are 10 of our faves from around Australia. You’re welcome 😉

1. Daydream Island Resort

Whitsundays, QLD

Two snorkellers swimming over a sting ray in the Living Reef coral lagoon at Daydream Island Resort

The Daydream Island Resort pool ticks all the boxes for the whole family. Overlooking the Great Barrier Reef, the kids’ pool area is conveniently located right next to the Kids’ Club. But the real highlight is the Living Reef – a coral lagoon where you can snorkel with baby stingrays and marine fish. It’s the only living coral lagoon in an any Aussie resort 😮

2. Crown Metropol

Melbourne, VIC

The Crown’s heated indoor pool, located on its 27th floor, is spectacular. It’s a 25m infinity pool, with floor-to-ceiling windows that give you an incredible view of the Melbourne skyline. When you’re not doing laps, spoil yourself at the on-site day spa, hair salon, restaurants and designer shops.

3. Bannisters Pavilion Mollymook

Mollymook, NSW

Crystal-clear rooftop pool at Bannisters Pavilion, Mollymook, NSW, surrounded by leafy treetops.

Bannisters Pavillon Mollymook is the perfect balance of elegance and relaxed coastal vibes. It’s just minutes from the beach, with an epic glass pool that extends out from the rooftop, so it’s like you’re floating around the treetops. Bonus: the pool is right next to Bannister’s Rooftop Bar & Grill, so you can enjoy a cool post-swim drink or snack with views of the Pacific Ocean.

4. Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough

Scarborough, WA

View from behind a waterfall, looking out over a pool, at Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough, WA.

Kicking back next to the pool at Rendezvous feels like being transported to your own private island. Palm trees, waterfalls and a rocky backdrop all come together to give this lagoon-style pool some serious cred. Check out the games room too – it’s a big hit with kids.

5. Mindil Beach Casino Resort

Darwin, NT

Sunset over the lagoon-style pool at Mindil Beach Casino and Resort, Darwin, NT. The ground-floor suites have private decks right on the water.

Four words: swim-out room access. Three words: swim-up bar. Two words: booking now 😉 Yep, you read all of that right. At Mindil Beach Casino Resort, if you stay in a Superior Lagoon room, you can open your balcony door, drop your towel and step straight into the pool (and swim straight to the bar for one of Mindil Beach Casino Resort’s famous frozen strawberry daiquiris). As if that weren’t enough, the resort has its own private beach as well.

6. JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa

Surfers Paradise, QLD

Aerial view over the pools at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa, QLD.

The lagoon at the JW Marriott is no ordinary hotel pool. Instead, it’s a magical cove with waterfalls, hidden caves, a waterslide and luxurious private cabanas. It even has live tropical fish, which you can swim – or snorkel – with. In fact, the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa pool is so special, Wotif fans like you voted it the best hotel pool in Australia. Now that’s a recommendation!

7. Oaks Port Stephens Pacific Blue Resort

Salamander Bay, NSW

Love a water view? Well, you’re set at Oaks Port Stephens Pacific Blue Resort. Almost every room has one, thanks to the massive pool that wraps around the entire hotel for an unbelievable 480m. It’s the largest pool in Oz – wow! There’s also a heated lap pool and a sauna. If you book a townhouse, you’ll get your own private plunge pool too.

8. Eos by SkyCity

Adelaide, SA

Night time at the Leisure Deck at Eos by SkyCity, Adelaide, SA. The heated pool glows with purple light.

All that glitters actually is gold at the shimmering SkyCity in Adelaide. Head to the Leisure Deck for some serious pampering. There’s a heated outdoor pool (perfect all year round!) and a warm spa pool, as well as a sauna, steam room, day spa and state-of-the-art gym. Settle in with something delicious from Sol Bar and Restaurant and make the most of those awesome views 🤩

9. Midnight Hotel, Autograph Collection

Canberra, ACT

Indoor lap pool at the Midnight Hotel, Autograph Collection, Braddon ACT. The tiles are midnight blue.

The Midnight Hotel’s indoor 20m lap pool is almost too pretty to disturb with a ripple (almost). It’s true to the property’s name, with gorgeous midnight-blue tiles and gold overhead lighting, so it feels like you’re swimming in a dream. You’ll find it in the Wellness Centre, where there’s also a sauna, two decked-out gyms, and a pool deck with private cabanas to lounge on. After you dry off, treat yourself to a nightcap or nibbles at the Midnight Bar.

10. Country Club Tasmania

Prospect Vale, TAS

Heated indoor swimming pool at the Country Club Tasmania.

If you’re looking for a holiday where you can play a round of golf or a few sets of tennis in between dips, the Country Club Tasmania is just the ticket. The Club’s indoor pool is heated to an oh-so-perfect 25 degrees Celsius all year round and there’s also a wading pool, sauna and a full gym. Be sure to take a 15-minute drive into town for a schooner at Boags Brewery – after all those laps, you’ll have earned it!
