Great Summer Escape Registration Form

Terms and Conditions

Promoter Expedia Australia Pty Limited (ABN 12 101 694 946), Level 17, 1 Martin Place, Sydney NSW 2000.
Competition Period 12.01am (AEDT) on 08/10/2024 to 11.59pm (AEDT) on 10/10/2024.
Who can enter? Only Australian residents who are aged 18 or over.
Who can’t enter? Directors, officers, management and employees (and their immediate families) of:

  • (a) the Promoter; and
  • (b) the agencies, companies or participating premises associated with this competition.
Where will the competition run? The competition will run via a physical activation onsite at Queensbridge Square, in Southbank, Melbourne, and also online at www.wotif.com/vc/blog/summerescape (Website).
Entry instructions There are two ways you can enter this competition:

  1. Entry Method 1 – physical activation at Queensbridge Square
    From 8am – 6pm (AEDT) of the Competition Period, you must:

    • (a) attend the Wotif’s Great Summer Escape physical activation at Queensbridge Square in Southbank, Melbourne;
    • (b) once you have been verified by the Promoter’s representative at the activation that you are 18+, enter the game room where you will have a maximum time limit of 3 minutes to complete a series of puzzles to unlock the doors in the game room and collect a token for each door you unlock;
    • (c) once your 3 minute time limit is up, and only if you have collected at least 1 token, you can enter the draw by using the iPad device provided by the Promoter’s representative where you must fill in the online entry form including by providing your name, phone number, email address, confirmation you are 18+, and the number of tokens you collected.

    Each token translates to one entry into the draw. Only the Promoter’s representative at the activation can verify if a token is validly collected.

    See ‘Activation Terms’ section below for conditions and further details about the activation.

    You can participate in the activation as an individual or as a team (max 6 people per team). If you are participating as a team, and the team collects at least 1 token in the allocated time limit, each participant (as long as they are aged 18+ and are a valid entrant as per these Terms and Conditions) will receive the same number of entries as tokens collected by the team. For example, if a team of 4 people collects 2 tokens in the 3 minute time limit, each participant in the team will be given 2 entries into the draw (provided that each participant fills in an entry form). For clarity, children under the age of 18 may participate in a team with their parent/guardian. Parents/guardians are responsible for and must supervise the child while taking part in the activation. For clarity, any team participants under the age of 18 will not receive an entry and any token(s) found by a participant under the age of 18 will count towards the team’s total collected tokens, which will be the same number of entries that each valid entrant (who is over 18+, including any parents/guardians) will receive.

    If you did not collect a token, you will not receive an entry into the draw via this entry method (however, you can enter via Entry Method 2, see below).
    Max 1 turn in the game per person (either individually or as a team) per day.

  2. Entry Method 2 – via the Website During the Competition Period:
    • (a) visit the Website to locate the competition page;
    • (b) follow the prompts to solve the picture puzzle shown on screen; and
    • (c) once you’ve successfully solved the puzzle, fill out and submit the online entry form, including by providing your name, phone number, email address, confirmation that you are 18+ and CAPTCHA test, to receive 1 entry into the draw.

    Max 1 entry per person for Entry Method 2.

    The Promoter is not responsible if your mobile device/desktop is not sufficiently capable for the purpose of submitting an entry.
Activation Terms To participate in the activation game room, you must follow and agree to the Promoter’s instructions and full rules at all times (which will be made available for participants to read before they enter the game room). You will be required to sign a Disclaimer and Release Form prior to being allowed to participate in the activation. You must not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct or act in any manner which the Promoter or the Promoter’s representative considers reckless or inappropriate. You must not consume any alcohol, before participating, and you must not use any performance enhancing device or drug. The Promoter or the Promoter’s representative may disqualify any participant who fails to comply with the Promoter’s instructions, the game rules or these Terms and Conditions.
The Promoter’s representative reserves the right to remove/disqualify (or deny entry to) any participant if they form the reasonable view that a participant is in breach of the rules of the game, are behaving aggressively or demonstrate unsportsmanlike/reckless/inappropriate behaviour, or are otherwise in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
All decisions with respect to the conduct and running of the physical activation will be as determined by the Promoter’s representative/s in their reasonable discretion.
How many winners will there be and how will they be chosen? There will be 3 winners determined in respect of this competition; 1 major winner, 1 minor winner and 1 runner up winner.
Entries received from both Entry Methods will be combined for the purposes of the draw.
There will be 1 draw conducted.
The draw will be held at 12pm (AEDT) on 16/10/2024 at Gadens, Level 13, 447 Collins Street, Melbourne Vic 3000.
The first valid entry drawn randomly from all of the entries received during the Competition Period will win the major prize, the second valid entry randomly drawn will win a minor prize, and the third valid entry randomly drawn will win the runner up prize.
The Promoter may draw additional reserve entries in a draw and record them in order, in case a winning entry/entrant is deemed invalid or a prize is unclaimed (Reserve Entrants).
What can I win? There are 3 prizes available, 1 major prize, 1 minor prize and 1 runner up prize.
Major prize
The major prize is a $5,000AUD Wotif.com Travel credit. The supplier of the Wotif.com travel credit is Expedia, Inc., 1111 Expedia Group Way W, Seattle, WA 98119 (“Sponsor”).
See ‘Travel Credit (Major Prize)’ section below for further details.

Minor prize
The minor prize is a single use $500AUD Wotif hotel coupon.

Runner up prize
The runner up prize is a single use $250AUD Wotif hotel coupon.

The Wotif hotel coupons are valid for bookings made by 31 March 2025 for stay to be completed by 30 September 2025. The coupon discount applies only to select stand-alone hotel bookings (not a hotel booking in combination with any other product or offering such as flight + hotel or flight + hotel + car) made online at www.wotif.com and pre-paid at the time of booking.

There is a limit of one prize per person (except for SA residents).
Travel Credit (Major Prize) Travel credit (awarded as the major prize) can be used toward a booking on Wotif.com (excluding cruise), booked via Expedia Group’s promotions team. Winner is responsible for paying any applicable income taxes and any expenses not listed above. Any prize details not specified will be determined by Sponsor in its reasonable discretion. A prize may not be transferred and must be accepted as awarded. You may not request cash or a substitute prize; however, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the prize is not available for any reason, subject to any necessary approval by the state/territory gaming authorities.
The prize can only be used on one (1) booking up to the value of $5000AUD on Wotif.com (excluding cruise), booked via the Expedia Group promotions team. Must be booked by 30 October 2025 for travel completed by 31 December 2025. Any prize value remaining after making a qualifying booking is not redeemable. Winner will be responsible for any booking amount in excess of $5000. Re-bookings are not allowed. The value of the booking is not refundable, and any remaining balance will be forfeited. Subject to availability. Blackout periods may apply. Booking is subject to certain terms and conditions as specified by issuer. The Sponsor will work with the winner to book their travel.
Prize and all elements of the prize must be taken as and when offered or will be forfeited, and if forfeited, the Sponsor will not be liable. Prize is subject to any additional terms and conditions imposed by the relevant supplier or the Sponsor including:
(a) any additional fees (payable by you) relating to changes made by you to a prize after it has been booked;
(b) the requirement to obtain all necessary documents to travel to any overseas location specified, including a current and valid passport and any visas required; and
(c) a requirement to present your credit card when checking in to accommodation.
Prize winner is responsible for all other unspecified costs related to the prize, including but not limited to meals, transport, insurance (including excesses), in-room charges, taxes, costs associated with ongoing use of the prize, airfare (if not included in the booked travel).
Prize winner accept that some aspects of a prize may be inherently risky and that the prize may involve dangerous activities. The Sponsor, its associated agencies and companies make no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. The Sponsor strongly recommends that you take out travel insurance and consult www.smartraveller.gov.au prior to travelling.
In respect of any prize comprising travel or any other activity, you expressly acknowledge that undertaking such travel or activity is at your own risk and sole discretion and you will make your own assessment of the risks and of your own suitability to participate in or to undertake such activity or travel.
Any winner is responsible for paying all applicable federal, provincial, state, local, income and withholding taxes, if any. In the event that any tax withholding is required by law for the prize, a winner authorises Sponsor to make the corresponding deduction. Sponsor will not be liable for any expenses incurred as a consequence of flight cancellations or delays. Sponsor will not be liable for any airline and/or hotel fees incurred as a consequence of changing or cancelling flight and/or hotel reservations. Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen prizes or prize components. Prize must be accepted as awarded. Prize is awarded “as is” without any warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor (except where required by law including as set out in clause 17 below).

Total prize pool The total prize pool is $5,750.
How many times can I enter? Entry Method 1: You can enter once (have one turn in the game as an individual or in a team) per day. You can earn multiple entries into the draw correlating to the number of tokens you (or your team) collects.
Entry Method 2: Max 1 entry per person.
For clarity, you may enter via both Entry Method 1 and Entry Method 2, in accordance with the respective entry limits for each Entry Method.
Each entry must be submitted separately in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
How and when will the winner/s be informed? All winners will be notified by email within 5 business days of the draw, and a Wotif (the Sponsor’s) booking agent will contact the major prize winner via email to facilitate the booking.
The minor prize and runner up prize winners will have their prize emailed to them at the same time they are notified of their win.
Winners will have their first initial, surname and postcode published on the Website on 17/10/2024 for a period of 28 days.
Unclaimed prize/s Prize claim date: 5pm (AEDT) on 18/11/2024
Unclaimed prize determination: 12pm (AEDT) on 19/11/2024 at the same location as the original draw.
If a prize has not been accepted or claimed by the prize claim date above or if, after making all reasonable attempts, the Promoter can’t contact a winner (or a winner does not contact the Promoter) by the prize claim date above, the relevant entry/ies will be discarded and the Promoter will carry out an unclaimed prize draw at the date, time and place stated above to randomly distribute the prize/s in descending order of value amongst valid entrants who (if possible) have not already won an unclaimed prize.
Any winner/s will be informed by email within 5 business days of determination and will also have their first initial, surname and postcode published on the Website on 20/11/2024 for a period of 28 days.
If a prize winner cannot be found, that information will be published on the Website on 13/12/2024.
Collection and use of your personal information If you are a winner, you must take part in all publicity, photography and other promotional activity as the Promoter requires, without any compensation. You consent to the Promoter using your name and image in any promotional or advertising activity.
Collection and Use of Your Personal Information: Promoter/Sponsor may collect your personal information directly or through our agents or contractors. We will use your personal information as necessary in order to conduct and manage the competition, and, where we have a lawful basis to do so, to send marketing communications to you. We may disclose your personal information to our related companies, agents, and contractors to assist in conducting and managing this competition, communicating with you, or storing data. This may include disclosures to organizations outside Australia in places such as the United States.   1. These Terms and Conditions incorporate and must be read together with the details outlined in the table above. Information about prizes and how to enter forms part of these Terms and Conditions. By entering, you accept these Terms and Conditions.
    Entry
  2. Your entry must be received during the Competition Period and will be deemed to be received only when received by the Promoter. Where relevant, entry forms/scratch cards from any other competition cannot be used for this competition, and are void if copied, forged, stolen or interfered with. Where relevant, submitted entry forms are the Promoter’s property. If you return a Qualifying Purchase your entry may be deemed invalid at the Promoter’s discretion (unless the product is defective). If online or SMS entry is available, you will receive a return message confirming your entry. The Promoter is not liable for any problems with communications networks outside its reasonable control. You are responsible for your own costs associated with entering. If you enter using automatically generated entries or multiple phone numbers/email addresses/addresses/aliases, you may be disqualified.
    Prizes
  3. Prizes and all elements of prizes must be taken as specified, as and when offered and cannot be altered or changed in any way by you or will be forfeited, and if forfeited, the Promoter will not be liable. If you forfeit the prize or any element of the prize for whatever reason, you will not be given cash or any alternative prize as a substitute. Prize/s are subject to any additional terms and conditions imposed by the relevant supplier or the Promoter, including, validity period/s.
  4. You are responsible for all other unspecified costs related to the prize, including meals, transport, insurance (including excesses), in-room charges, additional taxes, costs associated with ongoing use of the prize, etc.
  5. The Promoter is not responsible for any dispute between you and any person with whom you choose to, or choose not to, share a prize.
    General
  6. Any material failure by you to comply with the conditions imposed by the prize supplier(s) may result in the prize being cancelled or withdrawn without liability for the Promoter or the prize supplier(s).
  7. You must, if required by the Promoter, sign disclaimer and release forms provided by the Promoter in favour of the Promoter and other parties before taking the prize. If you or any companion/s do not sign, your entry will be deemed invalid and you will lose any entitlement to a prize.
  8. If you or your entry are deemed by the Promoter to breach these Terms and Conditions materially including if the prize is on set dates and you are unable to take the prize on the relevant date/s, your entry (or at the Promoter’s discretion, all of your entries) may be discarded. The Promoter may, at any time, require you to produce documentation to establish to the Promoter’s reasonable satisfaction the validity of your entries and/or verifying your identity (including documentation establishing your identity, age, place of residence and place of employment). Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not waive those rights.
  9. You must not:
    • (a) tamper with the entry process (including but not limited to manipulating the system via bots, script use, or any other means to circumvent the entry process);
    • (b) engage in any conduct that may jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the competition;
    • (c) act in a disruptive, annoying, threatening, abusive or harassing manner;
    • (d) do anything that may diminish the good name or reputation of the Promoter or any of its related entities or of the agencies or companies associated with this competition;
    • (e) breach any law; or
    • (f) behave in a way that is otherwise inappropriate.
  10. If you, in the reasonable opinion of the Promoter, behave aggressively or offensively, or behave in a manner which may diminish the good name or reputation of the Promoter or any of its related entities or the agencies or companies associated with this competition, is contrary to law or is otherwise inappropriate, the Promoter may cancel the prize or restrict you from participating in any elements of the prize, at its discretion.
  11. The Promoter is not liable for entries, prize claims or correspondence that are misplaced, misdirected, delayed, lost, incomplete, illegible or incorrectly submitted for reasons outside the Promoter’s reasonable control, including failure of any third parties to forward entry forms for inclusion in the draw.
  12. If any dispute arises between you and the Promoter concerning the conduct of this competition or claiming a prize, the Promoter will take reasonable steps to consider your point of view, taking into account any facts or evidence you put forward, and to respond to it fairly within a reasonable time. In all other respects, the Promoter’s decision in connection with all aspects of this competition is final.
  13. Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged nor redeemed for cash. Without limiting any other term of these Terms and Conditions, all prizes (and elements of prizes) must be taken as and when specified, or will be forfeited with no replacement. The prize values are correct as at the date of preparing these Terms and Conditions and include any applicable GST. The Promoter is not responsible for any change in prize value. You agree that if a prize (or element of a prize) is unavailable for any reason the Promoter may provide another item of equal or higher value, subject to any necessary approval by the state/territory gaming authorities.
  14. By entering, you request that your full address not be published.
  15. If this competition cannot run as planned for any reason beyond the Promoter’s control (for example due to software, hardware or communications issues, unauthorised intervention, tampering, fraud or technical failure, government directives, a pandemic, public health orders and the like), the Promoter may end, change, suspend or cancel the competition or disqualify affected entries/entrants, subject to any necessary approval by the state/territory gaming authorities.
  16. The Promoter is not responsible for any tax implications arising from you winning a prize. You should seek independent financial advice. If for GST purposes this competition results in any supply being made for non-monetary consideration, you must follow the Australian Taxation Office’s stated view that where the parties are at arm’s length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values.
    Liability
  17. You may have consumer rights under statute including under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), which may be relevant to any issue or problem you encounter in relation to this competition and cannot be excluded or restricted. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts those rights. See www.accc.gov.au for more information about those rights.
  18. Subject to the previous paragraph, the Promoter and the agencies and companies associated with this competition are not liable (including in negligence) for any loss (including indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury (including allergies, skin conditions or other reactions, as relevant), illness or death suffered in connection with this competition or any prize, except for any liability which under statute cannot be excluded (in which case that liability is limited to the greatest extent allowed by law).
  19. Without limiting the previous paragraphs, the Promoter and the agencies and companies associated with this competition are not liable for any loss of, damage to or delay in delivery of prize/s, or for any damage that occurs to displayed prize/s (where relevant), due to circumstances beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control. Unless otherwise specified, prize/s will only be delivered to addresses in Australia.
  20. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any social media platform, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. You provide your information to the Promoter and not to any social media platform. You completely release any relevant social media platforms from any and all liability.
