Overnight stay with hubby

Had an excellent nights stay in York at this hotel . Parking arranged in advance on line at q park The Shambles which was approximately a five minutes walk away . I used the hotels discount code obtained by ringing them and this cost £19 for 24 hours There is a car park much nearer to the hotel which may be worth checking as it may be cheaper. Couldn't find any fault with the hotel . Excellent location . Marvellous staff who were friendly and professional , and managed to get us checked in early. The room was spotless with a comfy bed , big shower , hair shampoo/conditioner, body lotion, hairdryer , iron and board and a small fridge . The buffet breakfast was superb with a great selection of hot and cold food There was even a waffle maker for use. The hotel is a few minutes walk from The Shambles and there are plenty of bars, restaurants , and shops nearby. I honestly couldn’t fault the Hampton by Hilton , and look forward to staying there again on our next visit to fabulous York

It was a lovely hotel but when we turned up expecting to park at the hotel the car park was now rubble. The parking was one of the reasons we chose the hotel so disappointing not to have been told this

Ideal location close to attractions, restaurants, and Shambles Alley. Great room size, very clean, staff polite and helpful. 24 reception gave a safer feel to our stay and the added bonus of starting each day with English breakfast. Would book again!

some weaknesses

There are a few points need to concern: 1.Breakfast time full of customers and so not enough table available. 2.No parking available by the hotel, so need to find street parking, it is very inconvenience especially by the tourist whose not familiar to that area.
