Visited York for a short break. Hotel very convenient to tourist attractions and short walk to city centre. Room clean and comfortable and bathroom spacious and clean. Breakfast included in price and was excellent.

The location of this property is excellent. 1 min walk and you are in the thick of it. I would have scored 5* but the breakfast was a bit mediocre with dried up sausages. The fruit was all tinned, fresh would have been better. The 'limited edition' waffle batter was so limited that it was unavailable 3 mornings in a row. The bean to cup coffee was easily some of the worst I have ever tasted and there were always queues to get drinks due to an out of service machine. The service was excellent except at breakfast. There did not appear to be enough staff for the volume of work required at breakfast. This meant that things did not get topped up very quickly. The important thing is that I would definitely stay here again

Lovely Staff and Lovely Breakfast

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and with good interior design. The large wall mounted TV was an added bonus. The only thing I found difficult was the low level bed. As an older persona I found it difficult to get out of it as I am not as flexible as I used to be and the pillows were not as comfortable to lie on as my own pillows at home. The shower was very powerful and the water went onto the bathroom floor and on a couple of occasions a little spilled onto the room floor but was quickly wiped up. Apart from that everything else was fine, Thank you.

Booked 1 night for a show at the Barbican. Hotel is only a short walk away and is close to many bars and restaurants. Rooms are spacious, clean, modern and soundproof for a good nights sleep.

Very convenient for York city centre and within walking distance. Reasonable food choices. Breakfast good but lacking in healthy choices. A fresh fruit salad and more vegetarian options would be a plus point. Overall though, a pleasant and enjoyable stay.
