The rooms were a great size for our family and it was very clean. Kitchen, bathrooms and showers all close to the room. Excellent helpful staff, more than happy to make recommendations of things to do in the area and helpful suggestions. Would absolutely stay again and highly recommend!

Not what you expect

Pros: Nothing, except the staff member who came to change the sheets was very pleasant.
Cons: Represent the room as what it is - a dorm room, not a studio.
Location: Close to the falls
The room was unclean - blood on the sheets, cobwebs under the top bunk. When you book a studio you would normally expect a kitchenette or some sort of running water - not here. Very expensive for what you get. I would say this should be classed as a dormitory room - nothing more. Misrepresentation is the word that comes to mind.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We describe our unit as a Standard4 cabin which is a private cabin comprising of a double bed and a set of single bunk-beds. The cabin contains a microwave oven, fridge, jug, toaster, cutlery and crockery. We make it clear that all our facilities are shared, including the swimming pool, hot tub, covered BBQ / dining area, showers and toilets. Once again, thank you for your feed back.

Small camp which packs a punch.

Pros: Spacious cabins, and loved the pool and spa pool!
Cons: Nothing, it was great value for money.
Location: Located close to the Whangarei Falls, a pleasant scenic walk.
A small, friendly camp with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The cabins were spacious and had a kitchenette with breakfast bar, kettle and microwave so we were able to prepare our meals there. The communal kitchen was large and well stocked with cooking equipment. The swimming pool and spa were a great bonus, perfect after a day out snorkelling at the Poor Knights! Also plenty of clotheslines with pegs provided for drying off all our togs and towels. The owner is very friendly and accommodating, he happily provided us with an extra pillow and can give you plenty of options of activities around Whangarei. The Falls are a very short walk from the camp, very spectacular with a short walkway down to the bottom and back up through a shady forest track. Perfect for an evening stroll.

Budget accommodation

Very basic cabin with bed. Linen provided, only one blanket for each bed in winter although had no one else staying with us so scored the other blanket and cabin had oil heater which we kept on all night. Spa pool was only open for 1st night of our stay & closed on Saturday night for 2 days with no explanation. Budget cabins are furthest from the bathroom facilities. On the plus side area is very well lit up with automatic sensor lights.

Hello deepseaoyster, We do have extra blankets available in the front office if you come in and ask. We don't put the extra blankets into each cabin, as not everybody wants one, and we can't predict who all needs one. The spa pool was closed on Saturday because there was a problem with the pump, and we weren't able to sort out the problem until the pool repairperson arrived on Monday, and discovered one of the guests on Friday night had rolled up a t-shirt and stuffed it into spa pool drain. It is now up and running again for the next time you want to come stay with us. Thank you for your review.
