⭐ 1-Star Review – Extremely Unprofessional Experience at the Vanderbilt Hotel I booked my stay under “Pay at Hotel” terms, yet the Vanderbilt Hotel attempted to charge my card three days before my arrival without my consent, authorization, or notification. No charge ever went through, and I received zero communication from my bank—meaning the hotel’s claim that my card “declined” is simply untrue. When I arrived on Thanksgiving Day, my confirmed reservation was still active, yet I was denied service in person. I was never given a chance to present a valid card, never asked which card I wanted to use, and never asked to sign a payment authorization. Instead, the front desk insisted that payment was “expected three days prior,” a policy not listed anywhere in their Expedia listing or hotel agreement. The situation was made worse by repeated misinformation from the front desk (specifically Sherri), who continued to provide explanations that contradicted the actual booking terms and factual bank activity. This resulted in a completely avoidable denial of my reservation. I have requested a full investigation from both the hotel and Expedia, including documentation of any attempted charges, timestamps, cancellation codes, and internal communications. If the issue is not resolved appropriately, I will pursue further action with consumer-protection agencies. I am not asking for a refund—I was never charged. I am asking for accountability, honesty, and for the hotel to honor the

Really beautiful place to stay. My only complaint is that there was no room service on Monday,Tuesday and before 4pm on Wednesday because the restaurant is closed. Though there are several places to eat around the area, it would've been nice to have the option of breakfast in bed at the facility. There is a snack room where you can purchase water and chips, etc. Other than that, everything about the room and hotel was beautiful.

Welcoming staff aways greeting you with a smile, friendly cleaning staff and rooms are very clean, beautifully decorated and appointed. There are beautiful lounges to chose from to sit in, a billiard and ping pong table in one lounge for rainy days, a very nice gym and you must go to Juniper's and meet their warm and welcoming bartender, Julien. An exceptional stay that I would highly recommend. You will not be disappointed!

Nice room but not sound proofed

The room is not sound proofed at all - we were woken both late at night the first night and early morning on the last day by our neighbors talking - not shouting - just talking. We love the hotel but the lack of any sound proofing makes it highly likely we will not return. The fact that I need to buy coffee in the am (nothing is offered by the hotel complimentary) is annoying.
