Excellent stay great location
House has a nice layout, and cool temp despite very hot days. Parked 2 cars in back & walked everywhere. Stocked with coffee and cream, but also a nice coffee/breakfast shop right down the street. Great value & very comfortable for our group of 5 adults.

Charm and location
Tidewater is a lovely historic home with lots of charm in a great location. The metro, groceries, and many restaurants are a short walk away. The house is located on a busier street but that wasn’t noticeable in the family room or the primary suite. In order to access the primary suite u do need to walk through a secondary bedroom. Not a deal breaker, just takes a little planning. Being built in the late 1800’s the house has some quirks. The floors and stairs have a slight tilt and the windows are single paned. The owners have done a lovely job with the hvac system to ensure comfort. It would be nice to have butter knives that aren’t plastic and the back yard could use some attention. Specifically a level walkway from the parking in back to the house.Communication with the owners and ease of access was phenomenal. I would stay at any of their homes again.

Unfortunately experience
We were in town for our son’s wedding and needed a place where we could stay with our daughter, SIL and grandchildren. When we arrived the temp in the house was about 65. Temperatures outside were around freezing. Was communicated to owners. We turned the thermostat up to 72 and thermastat said it would take over an hour to reach that temp so we left and went to dinner. Came back and house was only a few degrees warmer. Went to bed because upstairs was warm. Got up in the morning and downstairs temp was around 62 and said that it would take 2hours to reach the setting of 72. I text owners and informed them that the house was entirely too cold and we would have to go to a hotel if it didn’t get warmer. It was early AM because we had a full day of wedding pics and activities. The downstairs didn’t warm So I went upstairs to take a warm shower and start getting ready. I turned on the faucet, pulled up the lever on the faucet for the shower and the entire faucet fell off. We vacated the house and informed the owners. We did not have the luxury of time to wait for repairs.

5️⃣⭐️Clean & Yes it’s actually comfortable!!
We traveled up from SC for a quick two night getaway. We were greeted with a welcome note and a bottle of wine.
Y’all the pictures don’t do it justice. Very comfortable for a family, keep in mind like many other row houses bedrooms are upstairs. A major plus for me was the king bed in MB, it’s a wonderful mattress. Not worn out! The MB which is top back room is large & has plenty of room for longer visits. The MB bed had sheets that felt better than any luxury sheets at a 5star hotel & extra (nice) pillows. Let me say this to all my FAN lovers. I had a “hallelujah” moment immediately when I saw the large tripod floor fan in the MB. The fan is heavy & blows!! It also has the best sound to sleep to. House was nice & cold when we arrived, the kitchen felt brand new. It was nicely stocked, had a wonderful stocked tea/coffee bar, Ice was stocked when we arrived, microwave is tucked underneath in cabinet, & a wonderful private fenced backyard which lead to private parking. We had plenty of room for our large four door Ram truck & another car if needed. Easy check in & the host was quick to respond to my question's about the neighborhood restaurants. I highly suggest, Tatte Bakery & Cafe. You won’t regret anything you pick to eat especially from the bakery & the GF menu is to die for!!
It’s an easy walk to so many great places, cute stores, convenient stores & the local dining is some of the best in this area. We learn something new every time we visit. We’ll be back!!

My family and I rented Collin and Laurie’s home for nearly a month, and we were very happy with our stay.

Perfect place in Old Town Alexandria!!
We brought our family of 5 for a vacation and loved this property as our home base. The property was very clean and the layout was great for our needs. The home itself was lovely and we enjoyed having space for family movie nights after a long day of museum hopping!
It was wonderful to have a parking space, but we utilized the free Alexandria Trolley and Metro for our trips to downtown. The area itself is full of shops and fantastic restaurants, so there were plenty of family friendly food options for the kids.
Overall, this was a wonderful family trip made better by this lovely home. Thanks to the hosts for opening this gem to us!! We would definitely stay here again!

Great location in Alexandria
The property is in a great location for staying in Alexandria. One is able to walk to restaurants and old town Alexandria. The only drawback to the location is that it is located on a busy street.
The property owner/managers were very easy to communicate with, very helpful with additional information like parking and public transport and sincerely wanted to assist with our stay.
Also, the property is not really 3 separate bedrooms. There is a double bed in a small room off the master bedroom, but it is really only suitable for 2 children that can share a bed. Also, it is off the master so the occupants of the master must walk through it to exit.
