The check in lady was rude. I walked in after driving in rain for 7 hours, and as she was helping someone at that time. She then raises voice saying are you checking in? It was around 2pm. I said yes, and she then says rudely check in is at 4pm. Then says unless you want to pay extra for early check in. I told her, yes that’s fine. After she finishes up with the customer, I walked up. I guess what I was expecting, since I’ve worked in the hotel industry, is her to be more polite. She could have waited til she was done with the customer, instead of saying all this while helping him. Most the time, I find the desk clerks usually at least say let me check and see if we have any clean rooms available. Check out is 11am, so surely by 2pm there’s something. But, when I received a free room, I booked. I had no idea it wasn’t connected to the casino. So, it was a minor inconvenience, since it was raining, and I just drove 7 hours. I didn’t feel like getting back in car and drive to casino. Hotel was okay. It definitely needs updating, and should offer coffee and water in lobby, but doesn’t.

Hot tub was great. Had some black stains on bottom. A little more time and attention and with correct cleaning products could have been fixed and could be. Edges around window area not vacuumed, crumbs on the floor in the corners. Fridge did not work, was hot. Empty bottle of conditioner in shower. Half a roll of toilet paper in bathroom was all there was. Tv menu for information on dining etc out of date and did not work. Tall lamp in front of window did not work. No information regarding hotel or local info left in room like most hotels you get some sort of pamphlets etc. Could never get the Penn play app to work when we got to the casino no one asked if we had the card or would like to sign up. Casino could definitely use some help in the customer service area as far as employee interaction with guests. I have worked in CS as a manager most of my life and we were only greeted by the young woman when we entered the casino. No hi how are you etc the entire time in the casino and we were there for about 2 hours. Drinks just a woman walking around saying drinks out loud as she walked around. Too impersonal, you get that at a ball game. How about having staff approach guests asking if they would like a drink alcoholic or non. Not done here. That does make a difference. It wasn't very busy and casino employees seem to be there physically but mentally checked out. Customer service skills seem to be a thing of the past. A simple hello and how are you, can I get you anything.
