Why 3 out of 5 stars (lots of + and a few -)? I stayed 5 days total, staff very kind and attentive. Very convenient to the hospital, which is why I was there. I ate dinner there one night (good food), when I asked for bill, waiter said manager was taking care of it. Upon checkout, not only was that charge on my bill, but there were two meal charges. Second half of stay there was a terrible smell permeating the building. I suppose it was temporary, but left before the smell did. If not for smell and re-negging on taking care of dinner, it would likely be a 5-star.

Lovely place. Nice quiet location and only a short stroll to main tourist area. Plenty of dining options nearby. We had to check out early so they even dropped a take away breakfast to our room the night before. We really enjoyed our stay. The only slight negative was the shower door needed a little adjustment and may prove difficult for other guests. I would definitely stay again. Thanks.

This boutique hotel is situated right on a small canal, in an old traditional building. Access to Venice couldn't be better from there. To get there with luggage, best to take the water bus "vaporetto" as the walk would otherwise involve too many sets of stairs over bridges. We counted only 3 sets of stairs on the route to the vaporetti station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size. There was no elevator to our room, unfortunately. The shower stall sizes seem to be very tiny all over Italy and this bathroom was no exception, but it was clean. There is a good restaurant on site and breakfast was good as well. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

A lovely place to stay in Venice

The building is beautiful and the staff are lovely. The floor of one of our rooms is wonky but nothing that couldn’t be fixed by chocking up the bedframe. The breakfast was plentiful and the restaurant is divine -highly recommend the seabass ravioli which was the best I’ve eaten in my life. The location was really good, walking distance to everything but far enough away from the chaos.

Loved our huge room 01. It was light & airy & lovely and clean. Nice bed, and we had a lovely canal view. A bonus was we had a kettle and tea tray, very unusual in Europe. We've stayed in different hotels in Venice before & never had one! The bathroom was good except the tiny corner shower, so small and the doors needed fixing, and the shower head needed descaling which we told reception about, it spluttered everywhere, but we did manage. We loved the hotel and the staff were all wonderful. Breakfast was ok, except the "hot" food was always cold. But toast & croissants were good & a BIG Thank You to Shuvo in the breakfast bar, he makes THE BEST cafe latte! The housekeeper kept our room spotless. The hotel is in a perfect location for everything us tourists need to see! Thanks to the manager too, he was very welcoming. We didn't try the restaurant but it did get busy, and it had a pretty courtyard.

Locanda La Corte is a great place to stay in Venice. We went as a family of four and the room was a good size. The location is great. A few minutes walk to Rialto and St Mark's Square, but at the same time in a very nice and quiet neighbourhood. Breakfast is great and the staff was very helpful in addressing my requests. I definitely recommend it as a place to stay in Venice.

The place was great, clean, great location friendly staff. Air conditioning worked very well. We ate dinner the last night with a large crowd and the staff didnt seem like they are used to handling large crowds so eat there (food was ok) if you are smaller if larger i recommend looking elsewhere. otherwise had a great experience!

We had a great stay here! The location is a bit off the main area, which is a plus for us since the crowds and noise are not as bad. The air conditioner was nice and cold and the water was hot. The shower was tiny, even for European standards, but this hotel had the only smart TV out of our entire European trip. Great breakfast with freshly made coffee and cappuccino! Thanks!

This property in Venice was very old but kept VERY NICE!! It’s not on the Grand Canal but had water access and street access. Close walking to alot of sights. Nice dining options including right next door. Breakfast buffet was simple but good with eggs, bacon, pancakes,etc. They make your choice of coffee fresh as you come in. Staff was friendly and provided excellent service. The only drawback to our room was the shower…. I could barely fit through the door!! I’m not a large man 6-2, 185…. But I got clean with hot water, so it’s all good.

Gem of a hotel in quiet area of central Venice

Lovely gem of a hotel, quietly situated directly on the canal in the Castello area of central Venice. We arrived at Santa Lucia station and jumped on the Vaporetto public water bus - could have got off at Rialto but chose to stay on to San Marco to get the fantastic views down the grand canal and then arriving at San Marco - amazing! From there it’s just over a 10 walk through the backstreets to the hotel. The staff here are so friendly and welcoming - and gave us early check in to one of our rooms at 11am which was ideal. Delighted with our room - it was huge, with windows overlooking the water - and had hot water for shower in the morning. Breakfast was lovely and the restaurant is good too. A lovely place!
