Overall, great. Restaurant was not as good as other experiences but staff was great. Amazing location. Would caution staying on the top floor near the alley. Room so hot closing the window was not an option and the alley is used by those traveling to and from some of the pubs, so you can imagine the noise. Not the fault of the hotel but shows the reason it is one of their less expensive rooms. GREAT LOCATION!

Great location in the middle of Conwy. The hotel has on site parking but the main area behind the hotel is accessed via a very narrow alley. Not suitable for larger vehicles. The rooms are really very comfortable. Breakfast options are good and the dinner service is excellent.

Lovely hotel but breakfast was a little disappoin

Hotel very central with parking at rear. Staff are helpful and hotel has plenty of character. Room was small but comfortable and tastefully furnished and bathroom was huge! Breakfast was a little disappointing. First there were no glasses for juice then there were no bowls for cereal. Not sure what the tables are cleaned with but our cup and saucer kept sticking to the table and it was sticky to touch. Cooked Breakfast itself was nice but took a long time to come. Again waiting on staff were very lovely.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Castle Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and eager to help. The hotel itself is full of charm and character, with beautiful historic features that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time—yet it offers all the modern comforts you could need. Our Suite was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated, with lovely views of the surrounding town. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like local toiletries and fresh coffee. Breakfast was a highlight—plentiful, freshly prepared, and served with a smile. The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of Conwy, just a short walk to the castle, town walls, and harbour. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend The Castle Hotel to anyone visiting North Wales. A perfect blend of history, comfort, and hospitality.

The hotel exudes a warm and cozy ambiance that instantly makes you feel at home. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Our classic double room was both comfortable and homey, with all the essential amenities (though note there is no in-room safe). The on-site restaurant served absolutely delicious meals, and the bar provided the perfect setting to relax with a drink after dinner. The hotel’s central location is another huge plus—surrounded by charming bistros, lively pubs, and local shops, there’s always something to explore just steps away. Highly recommended!

Disappointing Stay

We stayed a few years ago and enjoyed our stay however the hotel has gone downhill with cleanliness and desperately needs updating. At the bar in the evening the gin stock was low and the main bar chap seemed a bit miserable. The young chap that came to help was more enthusiastic and helpful. We went next door to Dylans to eat as the atmosphere put us off - Dylans was wonderful and we were served by people who loved their job.

Convenient location

The Castle hotel in Conwy Wales was a gorgeous stay. Convenient location to the castle, walking distance to lots of shops and places to eat. A very narrow entrance to the car park could be problematic for larger vehicles. They were very accommodating of our requests and left a sweet note and treat for us. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but it seemed busy. A comfy bed, overall good stay.
