Although the Hotel had a great rating, and the hotel itself was clean and modern - check-in was slowish (even though we were the only ones checking in). The room itself was nice enough and spacious, but when we walked in the odour (room spray smell) was overwhelming, the bed pillows were super small for a king sized bed and the mattress was way to soft/lumpyish - making it a bit very enjoyable sleep. Also the air conditioner was super loud. In the morning we noticed little bug/ants in the bathroom - we checked in late so didn’t see them when we arrived. Although breakfast was a hot breakfast, we didn’t partake, there wasn’t any yogurt. We grabbed a banana & coffee and worked a little out in the bar/restaurant area (which was bright). The facilities themselves appear to be taken care of well - clean & bright (although we didn’t use any other areas to know for sure ). Perhaps it was just our room and maybe the guy checking us in was at the end of his shift (or not having a good day). At checkout (which was super easy) - we told them we had tiny ants/bugs in our bathroom (explaining we got in late and didn’t see them the night before). She said she would send maintenance right away to spray.

The facility had some type of water damage that left the entire property smell moldy and damp. Guest room was especially bad. Too bad, it was a decent place for the price.

The only positive to this place is the front desk staff are very nice. The hallways all smell terrible, like mold/mildew and pet urine. They attempt to cover this up with awful air fresheners and it does not work. The rooms are also extremely poorly ventilated so there is visible mold in the bathroom, all the metal on fixtures are rusting and the nails in the ceiling show rust spots all over the ceiling. The rooms smell so bad or mold/mildew that it is hard to fall asleep because it’s so strong.

Good: Staff were a delight. Bec linens in room were clean. Water was hot. AC/heat worked well. Breakfast area was clean. Bad: Hard water buildup on bathroom faucet and in shower made it feel less than clean. The application of caulking in shower rather than replacement of surround, and miscelanous scuffs on walls made it feel rundown. Bathroom sink needed a round of drain cleaner. Extremely slow. Stain or dirt on sheer curtain in window reinforced impressions bathroom gave. Breakfast not served on time. Did not meet my expectations of a Wyndham franchise.

I left a poor review last month about the poor condition of the hotel. Last weekend, we decided to give them another shot. I was extremely impressed this stay, and the staff has made big changes. The hotel was clean, the room was clean, the heavy moisture was gone, and overall- you can tell the hotel has made some positives changes. We will be back in a few weeks, bravo!!!
