Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel is an incredible property with unparalleled Japanese hospitality. The stunning surroundings are matched by the dedication of the staff, especially Moeka, who was exceptionally personable and professional. Her service made my stay unforgettable. The hotel is just 5 minutes walk to Kinugawaonsen Train Station. You can take the bus from the bus stop outside the Train Station to most of the attraction near Kinugawa. The hotel's staff is nice and friendly. The food from the hotel is great. I booked a room with private Onsen, nice and great experience.

Classy but dated and not located in central Nikko

This is an unusual property, located in a resort area that is substantially deserted. The view is not as pastoral as pictured since there are pylons in the way. The distance from picturesque Nikko is substantial even though the property is listed as Nikko. It was a $60 cab ride away since we didn't realize that the nearest train station was not Nikko Station. The restaurant is what saves the experience although it is a VERY VERY expensive stay.

Beautiful ryokan/hotel in Kinugawa onsen

Very clean, new and modern hotel while maintaining a traditional Japanese ryokan feel. Very Comfortable bathrobes. Beautiful bathroom and rain head shower. Private onsen are amazing - looking over Kinugawa river and mountains (some construction in the view near by but not loud). Public onsen beautiful and zen - some outdoor, some indoor. Food was good - kaisaeki type meals served in dining area.

至れり尽くせり

とにかく最高に良いホテルでした。スタッフの心遣いは素晴らしいです。まず数日前にメールをいただき、和室でしたが簡易ベッドを用意してくださり助かりました。高齢者には本当にありがたいです。お料理も美味しく，器もきれいで目でも楽しめました。浴衣で食事できたので、お風呂に先に入ってゆったりと食事できました。無料のドリンクも充実しています。ウェルカムドリンクや食事のあと、美味しいチョコレートをいただきました。部屋に付いている露天風呂も温泉で、十二分な大きさです。バルコニーからの渓流は少し見える程度でしたが、大浴場や部屋にタオルがたくさん用意されていていたので、お風呂に入るたびに新しいタオルが使えました。ドライヤーは全部リファ。アメニティも充実。枕の高さも選べる。至れり尽くせりとはこのことだと思いました。紅葉の季節にまた来たいねと家族で話しています。
