The greater Hokkaido area is well worth spending some time in too. Take a gander at the traditional villages, old towns and temples. Outdoorsy types should also admire the region's coastal plains, forests and rivers. In this part of Japan, travellers can try snowboarding, skiing and cross-country skiing.
If you'd like to explore some close by localities, try Niseko and Toyako. Journey 40 kilometres to the east of Suttsu-cho and you'll locate Niseko. That said, Toyako is 50 kilometres to the east. Hotels in Niseko include the Kira Kira and Kisetsukan. Toyako options are the Lakehouse At Toyako and Hotel Cocoa.
Australians are world renown for their passion for sport, so why not visit Miyanomori Ski Jump Stadium? Miyanomori Ski Jump Stadium is situated to the east of Suttsu-cho. Want to stay near the action? The Hotel Hamilton Sapporo and the Hotel Route-Inn Sapporo Kitayojo may be ideal.
If you're travelling into or out of New Chitose Airport and choose to stay nearby, check out the latest deals at the Crowne Plaza Ana Chitose or the Hotel Wing International Chitose.
