Cheap quiet place in Siem Reap

I stayed here for a few nights during the rainy season so there were not many people here. I stayed in the mixed dorm room, it was cheap, about $3 USD per night. The beds and room are clean and comfortable, but the bathroom needs some work. The sink in the room was falling apart and the soap provided leaked all over the bathroom. There is also a putrid smell in the bathroom. The window in the room does not have blinds or shades so people outside on the balcony can easily see in at night if the light is on inside. This area is quiet but at night there are weird guys lurking in the shadows that will whisper "hello" to you and if you engage them they will offer all kinds of substances and services. It is about a 10 minute walk to Pub Street for the night life. They serve breakfast and other meals here in the small kitchen area. The swimming pool is just ok, could be cleaner, not many people using it. It is easy to get a taxi or tuk tuk to the airport and local tourist sites.

Decent place, needs to fix a few things.

Not a bad stay. The major issue I had was the smell of sewage that keep coming from the bathroom. I don't know if it was coming from the opening where the fan was or if it was coming up from the pipes from the shower or floor drain, but it smelled the whole time. Also, the water was off randomly for a long period of time, at least 10 hours, so I couldn't shower or use the sink. Condition of place was fine and wi-fi worked well. But I wouldn't want to stay here again if it keeps smelling like that.

A gem in the making...

The owner is lovely and tried hard. She’s new at this guesthouse, still working out the kinks but she listens and is accommodating. She easily organized visits to Angkor Wat with friendly tuk tuk and car drivers. Her mom only spoke Chinese but had a translation program on her phone,always had a smile on her face and we communicated well. It was fun! The pool was great in the +35 heat. The location was great, close to the night market. It was good value. We would stay again.

Läget är bra. Poolen är ok för de pengarna. Smutsigt rum även man har begärt om städning. Man måste fråga om tvål, vatten, toapapper och ren handduk, det är inget givet att man får om man inte fråga. Internet fungerar dåligt. Finns spår av rost i vattnet, troligen rostigt rör. Dåligt belysning i rummet. Sängkläder känns inte så rent. Madrassen är inte bekväm och full med fläckar.

Horrible place

The private room is not very clean and poorly furnished, and somewhat smelly. The online booking showed the breakfast for one was included and actually not at all. And one-way free airport transportation could only be pick-up from the airport but not the transfer to it. I totally don't recommend you to go, not worthy for the price in contrast with so many other hostel nearby.
