They cancelled at the last minute! What a mess!

My family and i were just getting into the car to leave for the 4 hour drive to pick up one of my sons when i looked at my e-mails to check the check- in procedure and saw that i had another e-mail that was just sent to me saying my stay was cancelled!!! I had to pick up my son by a certain time so we still had to go without a place to stay. They gave a few suggested places to “help me out”, but they were all booked. The interesting part was that they didn’t even try to call or text me. They only used e-mail at the very last minute. I usually don’t check my e-mail when i am away because i make an effort to relax. Thank goodness i did, or it really would have been a mess when we got there.
