They were in the process of rehabbing the entire hotel so it was messy. All the common spaces were filled with massive rolls of carpet waiting to be put in, old furniture waiting to be dumped and room amenities scattered everywhere. So, even though our room was definitely old and outdated they are in the process of fixing it. I did have a problem with the fact there was no elevator in the building. Hopefully, they will update for than just the rooms. All said and done, it was fine for the price we paid. Staff was pleasant and accomodating.

We tried to treat our kids to a little getaway and so they could swim for the weekend. The pictures online that represented the pool area, I assume are very outdated - no hot tub and it reeked of mold and mildew throughout. Obvious bacterial growth evident on all pool window sills. Black mold growth in the vents of our room AC/heat unit. Curtain in room had at least 15 different disgusting stains on it. Bathroom floor was always damp and stinky, like there is trapped water under the cheap laminite flooring. Acquired a sinus infection by the time of check out. Trashy guest sneaking in a large family through the side door. You can tell half of the people working there actually cared while the other half were just irritated waiting for their next smoke break (especially the woman annoyingly checking us in on Sat, Feb 14th, literally complaining to me that "she'll never get away from the desk" to have a smoke). Will never return, although the nice location is their only selling point.

We we went to breakfast and the juice was out as well as the yogurt. Went to front desk, told them, and she immediately went and changed them out. Front desk was super friendly and even allowed us to swim longer than pool was open. Pillows are like the size of throw pillows lol which was odd but they were still comfy. Was a stain on our comforter that almost looked like baby food could have been spilt but no other complaints. Will stay again if we ever need to come back this way. View was also really nice of the water.

Hotel is in a great location, safe, and many dining options close by. Was a little sad the lake was frozen and didn't get to see the usual birds. Breakfast was the same both mornings, was hoping for a little variety. I guess staying if December is a bit different.

It is a bad idea to have motion activated lights in the entryway. We woke each other up several times over night. A bathroom nightlight of some sort , however, is very much appreciated.
