The tower suite room is chef's kiss!

We visited Morro Bay for a birthday weekend Nd decided on Ascot Suites. I splurged a little and chose the "Tower" suite with king bed, fireplace and huge bathroom shower! It's clean, well-lit and the view of Morro Rock was beautiful. Second floor also gave us a front row seat at the tornado warning headed our way. It was great drama unfolding but alas, a tornado didn't come. Just heavy rain and gusts of wind. Kinda romantic to see holding my baby by the fireplace. Check-in/out was a breeze. We had to do late check-in and if you do this, make sure you call ahead so they are expecting you. Otherwise the whole building closes down at 10 PM and without a key card you cannot get in. Breakfast is served in the choices very. I say it's above average with offerings of eggs, sausage, strong coffee and fresh made waffles. They also have a great rooftop lounging area that overlooks the entire bay including a straight shot view of Morro rock. Fire pit and couches available up there. We couldn't take full advantage of it though because of inclement weather, but seems like a romantic spot.This is the best place we've stayed at in Morro Bay and if that tower suite is available next time around, we'll definitely be back

We stayed 4 days and 3 nights for our 25th Anniversary🤗 Great stay! Upon arrival they gave us an upgrade to a suite. So kind. The views from the room was wonderful! Nice breakfast. I met some fascinating people over breakfast and my wife and I had 2 wonderful breakfast in bed. THE best value all around ✌

The rooms were clean. The noise was an issue for us. Both rooms next to us had music and television turned really loud until around midnight. We called the after hours number twice and no one answered. Guest above us woke yp @5am with heavy footsteps. So we slept maybe 4 hours and not consistent. Walls are paper thin!! Hotel was ok overall. Breakfast was a typical average for what you can expect. The gym was very poor. The overall condition of the room not as good as I expected for the price. Didn't have a desk or table where I could work on my laptop. Staff was great.

As someone that travels for a living, this was one of the worst experiences of my life. Room had a broken A/C and broken bathroom door. When I spoke to the woman in the front desk she said “oh yea we wouldn’t get that fixed.” Referring to the door. Than said “try opening the balcony door for air” when I told her the AC was broken. As she says that, there is no spring door so she expected me to sleep with an open door with my 4month year old with seagulls all over the building. When I tried to ask for another room or compensation she said I had take it up to the property and expedia in hopes they can agree on a refund. Which they offered a $50 credit for my $300 booking… Just a pathetic hotel and overall service. DO NOT BOOK or spend your money here.

Nice staff. Not great facility.

Location is handy. Staff are friendly and attentive. Room was clean. But building showing its age. The elevator was out. Luckily the staff found us a room on 2nd floor, but that meant I gave up my better view and the Jacuzzi tub. But with a bad knee reducing the number of flight of stairs to climb was more important. The stairwell was stained dirty and smelled. The bedside lamps flickered. As fluorescents it got better after they were on for awhile but didn’t stop, making them useless. The bed hard, thin “mattress” on a platform. The breakfast basically what you pay for (free with room) - microwaved pretend egg omelette, waffle machine broken timer that burns waffles, bagels and packed muffins. Refrigerator was super loud. Thank goodness the AC worked well, but clicked and groaned for hours after turning it off at night. Wasn’t the worst place I’ve seen but definitely not the greatest that some reviews had said.

All very good except: gym open 24 hours- the gym is not really a gym and has 2 machines where u can only walk - no other equipment . The breakfast is extremely non existent. You can get coffee and a waffle but that is basically it.
