The valet was difficult to get to. We had to call to see where to park. GPS sends you to the Plaza . Once we got a different address there was no attendant. Called the hotel again and response was just wait till someone shows!!! It was Halloween evening. I wish there was more information when we booked.

We loved this hotel, the history, the architecture, the lore, the pool, the courtyard, it really was magical. The location also couldn’t be beat it’s right next door to the Alamo and the riverwalk, tons of great shopping and food nearby all walkable. The rooms were so comfortable we had a view of the pool and giant palm trees

The hotel is beautiful and the staff was excellent. We did have a problem with the sink not draining and for some reason the carpet was soaking wet around the bathroom in the front door. But they were very diligent about coming up and checking it out and offered us another room which we declined because it seemed like it started to dry out overnight. It's a fabulous place to stay

The entire stay was excellent! The most pleasant experience was calling Samuel, the valet captain. We were lost and confused trying to find the hotel. We called, and Samuel stayed on the phone with us until we got to the hotel. His competence and helpful attitude reflect very highly on the Mengers reputation!

The balcony, is rotted. It is dangerous, thankfully you cannot access it. I really like this hotel, but for the price you pay, balconies should not look like they do.

My stay was great. The bed was very comfortable and the room overall was satisfactory. I didn't eat at the hotel so I can't speak to that. My primary complaint though was that the hotel should provide a map when you check in. I got lost on my floor more than once, couldn't find the appropriate elevator and ended up in the basement on the service elevator once. Some of the vending rooms have had the vending machines removed and only have ice. And the exit signs don't seem consistent if you try to follow some of them.
