Lovely hotel

A lovely hotel, about 10 mins walk from the train station and another 10 mins walk into the historic centre. Our room was nice and roomy and the staff friendly and helpful.

A lovely hotel in a convenient location. Easy walk to the station and along the river to the old town. Our room was well furnished and clean with a large walk in shower and comfortable bed. The staff were lovely, very efficient and friendly and provided helpful suggestions to make the most of our brief stay. A simple breakfast of coffee and croissants was provided. Would recommend staying here,

Disappointing service, especially for a hotel rated 4 stars. I booked a room for my mum and her small dog. We specifically chose Villa Carlton because it claimed to have on-site parking and to be pet-friendly. After a long day of travel, my mum arrived to find no parking available, and the receptionist made no effort to help or suggest alternatives. She was completely left to fend for herself in an unfamiliar city. After searching unsuccessfully for street parking, she asked to park in the hotel’s delivery area just overnight. The receptionist responded with an eye-roll and unwelcoming attitude, and told her to be gone by 7 AM. When my mum asked if she could leave her keys so someone could move the car while she had breakfast (as is common in 4-5 hotels), the answer was just “no.” The hotel building itself is nice but if you’re expecting service to match the stars, you’ll be disappointed.

No one overnight in the hotel front doors bolted after 10pm No food available in the evening. Breakfast was bread rolls snd jam we paid more for two nights at this hotel than we did at a superb hotel in vienna for 3 nights

Oh my! The Villa Carlton was the best hotel! A quaint and fabulously decorated small hotel. The room and bathroom are very nice. Excellent bedding and towels. They offer a continental breakfast of fresh bread with coffee and tea. My husband is Gluten free and they made the effort to get him some GF bread. A short walk from the train station and a block from Mirabell Gardens. This hotel is a must.

Very cute boutique hotel. Decorated very nicely. They advertised pastries and coffee for breakfast. However, there were only toast and rolls. Bed and pillows very comfortable.

The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The breakfast was basic -- coffee and rolls -- but we were told of that from the start. The air conditioning blew directly on the bed, which was less than ideal.

Great location .. 10 minute walk by the river to city centre . Safe and clean neigbourhood. Large room, very clean and with a good size washroom . Very eclectic interiors . Staff is very helpful . Breakfast is very light ..but you are told that at check in . The room does not have any kettle or fridge .. which was a tad dissapointing . Overall we enjoyed our stay cery much .
