We experienced a fantastic stay at Residenza Gens Julia. Urszula the host is warm, kind, and very responsive via WhatsApp. The self-serve breakfast offerings have a wide range, have plenty of quantity, and are restocked well. Most of all, the location is unbeatable: One is in the center of Rome where all the major sights and shopping areas are walkable. Also, the pizza place on the righthand side right next to the Residenza is excellent.

Residenza Gens Julia - Rome: Fantastic!

The hosts, Urszula with the help of her son Lorenzo, were fantastic! From help with luggage, to walking directions, tips on what to watch for when getting taxis, to stocking common areas with drinks (including your preferences) and all sorts of charcuterie, breads, pastries and nuts, we wanted for nothing. It was such a warm atmosphere and Urszula was available by text/phone at any time. The location is fantastic with easy to moderate walking to most major attractions. Train station about 3.3km away, 10-15€ ride depending on traffic. And taxi stand right across the street if you need one (no waiting). If you don’t mind a B&B vibe, I highly recommend Residenza Gens Julia.

Not like other hotels in SO many good ways: - Greeted by Ursula like we were long lost family. - She brought in her son Lorenzo to check us in because he’s awesome. - This is a guest house, not a hotel. We had the full run of the fully stocked kitchen 24/7. - According to Lorenzo, whatever we wanted anytime was “OK”. And it was. Except that it was actually great. - Right outside our window was the ruins of the Area Sacra di Largo Argentina. Yes, the actual site of Julius Caesar’s murder. Right there. Right outside the window. Like other hotels in SO many good ways: - PERFECT location. Restaurants, shopping, history everywhere in every direction. - Clean room. - Great service. - Excellent prices. Huge value. We visited on foot in four days: Vatican City (including an actual papal mass in the square), the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, Trastevere, the Jewish Ghetto, Trevi Fountain, Castel Sant’Angelo and countless piazzas, churches, restaurants and shops.

My daughter and I loved staying here. It is not a hotel with 24 hour desk service so you will text when you are leaving the airport and they meet you at the door on arrival. Urzalas son met us and showed us everything and gave us the keys within 5 min if our arrival. The room was very spacious and clean with a good size bathroom. It was located right near a lot of sites. We walked a block to the bus station, about 10 min to Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. We walked to the Coloseum in about 12-15 min and saw great sites along the way. We ate pizza from right next door that was delicious and walked to several restaurants that were very good. Breakfast is small but fine for our needs. Coffee, breads, cakes, cereal, yogurt. Do not expect a full American breakfast. Go out and eat the local food. We would absolutely stay here again if we return.

Urszula was amazing at making us feel comfortable and making sure we had everything we needed. Perfect location! We could walk everywhere. Taxis were right outside to take us to the termini.

A great stay.

We highly recommend Residenza Gens Julia! We were greeted warmly by Ursulla, Davide and Lorenzo. The room was immaculate. Lorenzo gave a full tour of the hotel, amenities as well as recommendations for restaurants in Rome. The continental breakfast was nice. The location afforded easy access to a number of tourist spots. Additionally, the taxi stand was close by.

The location of the place is excellent but the best part was the hostess, Ursula...she was truly amazing and went to great lengths to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as it could be..she went out of her way and took care of us as if we were her own and she even boiled eggs for me and ensured that I had enough water on me to endure the heat..really appreciated it

We had a wonderful stay! Great location central to everywhere we wanted to go. Urszula and her two sons Davide and Lorenzo were so hospitable! Highly recommend eating at Nannarella in Treviste which is one of their recommendations. It took us 15min to walk there! The hotel is located across the street from the ruins where Julius Caesar was assassinated. The hotel is very charming above the best little pizza place in Rome! What a great trip! Thanks Urszula!

Prime location in the middle of Rome. A lovely room for a family of 3 with 2 bathrooms. The owner is super nice and extremely helpful. We're sure to return the next time we visit this wonderful city.

I love this place and highly recommend it! A wonderful place, with comfortable beds, fabulous hosts, convenient to both the Coliseum and St. Peter's and across the street from significant ruins. I have never had hosts as outstanding as Urszula and her family - they went way beyond anything anyone would reasonably expect. I would recommend this property to anyone going to Rome. Many buses nearby also, to get to any location in Rome. Breakfast was plentiful and with many options. Very quiet.

Ursula and her two sons are excellent who made our staying were welcome and comfortable. Self-serve breakfast was flexible for me since I don't eat breakfast. The room was spotless and spacious which I have enough space for meditation and practicing yoga. The location was closed and walkable to the Pantheon, Campo de'Fiori, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Piazza Venezia, and Colosseum. I took taxi to Vatican Museum which was around 10 minutes, but you also could walk 30 minutes to the museum. I highly recommend.

Perfect Pre Christmas Break

Urszula is the perfect host. Attentive to every detail and so very kind. Gens Julia is perfectly situated for seeing all the major attractions and there are excellent restaurants nearby.
