The room was clean, service was excellent. Actually had daily room service!!! Hilton Garden Inn did not. Centrally located access to both the Skyway and Subway connecting the Mayo Clinic buildings with downtown Rochester. Complimentary wine and cheese were served from 5 to 6 pm in the lobby - I believe they said Mondays thru Friday which was a fun little social. Two of the three nights there was music as well. Day 2 our room was like an oven and I couldn’t get it to cool down. Was a little reconciled to it being due to being on a high in an older building. It did get unbearable and I did tell the front desk - not sure what they did but it cooled down shortly. We started our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn and were forced to move when we had an unplanned extension of our stay. In the end we were thrilled with the move and the Kahler will be our first choice next trip.

Nice hotel with dining options and very convenient if you are visiting Mayo. On the downside I could hear my neighbor due to an inch gap at the bottom of the adjoining door. I would stay again, but request a room without an adjoining door.

The hotel stay was fine except for fluctuating water temperature that made showering a challenge. The Grand Kahler is an interesting place. Food and drinks at the attached restaurants were very good.

It was very nice but streets were under construction so for a disabled person it was terrible unloading and checking in. The valet staff were amazing in helping so much in an uncontrollable situation and people inside were quite friendly. The room was very comfortable but could use modern bathrooms with higher toilets.

This is my second stay at The Kahler Grand Hotel. I really like the hotel and appreciate its convenience for Mayo Clinic access. There are three excellent restaurants (Lord Essex, Ruth's Chris, and Victoria's) attached to the hotel. The gym, hot tub, pool, and sauna are all amenities I appreciate as well. The hotel has a lot of charm and is generally a pleasant place to stay. My only criticism of Kahler Grand are the large youth conferences they have booked during a portion of both of my trips (late April and early October) that absolutely gridlock the hotel and its amenities. The last one was a church-associated group of 700 rowdy, annoying, obnoxious and disrespectful youth who spent 2-3 days at the hotel running down the hotel halls until 2 a.m. in the morning seemingly without any supervision whatsoever. Mind you that many if not all of the other hotel guests are Mayo Clinic patients seeking respite in between appointments. Rest is simply not possible at the hotel when sharing it with hundreds of unsupervised teens and pre-teens. I imagine that Kahler Grand accepts these groups because no one else will. My advice is to check with the hotel before booking and ask if they will have a youth group/conference present during your stay and avoid the hotel if they do. There are other hotels very close. You may pay a little more, but you will at least be guaranteed a good night's rest.

This was the worst hotel ive ever stayed at. Not only is everything under construction ouside of the hotel, forcing you to pay for valet parking.... but the room was awful. Around midnight the room was freezing and discovered there was no heat. I had two kids sleeping and they had to be woken up for the maintenance man to come and fix the heat. An hour later, the heat was fixed and finally ready to sleep after a 10 hour drive. Only for everyone in the room to be woken up by the awful bathroom door that hadnt been greased in years. Whenever someone used the bathroom, everyone woke up. And when we finally did get about 4 hours of sleep, the entire room was woken again at 6am when construction started right outside the window. Stay anywhere else but this craphole!!!!

Pool was nice and warm after a long day of walking and the hot tub. Towels in room too small and thin. Need new ones. But will definitely be back to stay.
