The Perfect Getaway........

This was a return trip for us to Rio Lagartos and it’s just the perfect hotel with rooms overlooking the ocean. The owners are so friendly, remembered us and we had our favorite room again. King size beds, AC, fans and nice bathroom amenities made for a wonderful relaxing stay.

Place is basic and clean; good hot water and nice balcony overlooking the water. Major bummer was that just before going to bed, realized our window was jammed and we could not have it open to let in the ocean air while we slept.

location location location! We loved the balcony in front of the water. The staff was amazing, they brought us coffee, toast and fruit in the morning for us to eat on the balcony looking at flamingos. Very relaxed and quiet place to spend a couple of days.

The place has an immense amount of character, from the spiral staircase to the beautiful murals on the wall. There are cute little details everywhere and the staff were super friendly :)

It's a simple place in a sleepy fishing village. Tourism is slow in the area and not many people around. We stayed on the ground floor and the room was a bit strange. There are nice window shutters (near total room blackout), but there is no glass on window. So, you can either stay cool in total darkness in the room or melt in the heat seeing the view. Hot water was more on lukewarm side.
