The hotel has several buildings spread over a large area that makes it hard to know in advance how far things will be. An example is if you book pick up for tours or Flybus. There are three pick up locations close depending on where your room is. My review of the hotel would have been excellent except our room was in the Tannery right over the courtyard/entrance to the wine bar. It was noisy and it is the smoking area for the bar. You have to close the windows to keep the smoke out and it is then warm and stuffy. One night there was a large party in the courtyard and it was impossible to keep the smoke out even with everything closed. I would recommend requesting a room away from the wine bar when making a reservation.

Lovely hotel in heart of downtown!

Such a lovely little hotel right in the heart of downtown! We stayed in a suite which was extremely spacious, beautifully decorated and stocked with cereal/milk/juice/coffee for breakfast. We were only booked for 1 night but wish we could have stayed longer.

The people in charge were nice but the bathroom drains smelled horrible. The blackout curtains only worked in the rooms so whoever stays in the living room on the sofabed has no blackout option so it was hard to sleep. We ran out of toilet paper and it was not refilled so we had to go get our own. The other properties from The Residence Reykjavik looked much nicer than the one we got. Wished they would let you know which “house” you will end up in because I would not have picked that one.

My family and I recently stayed at the Reykjavik Residence Hotel for 8 nights in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment. The unit was very nice, clean and comfortable with a small kitchen/dining area. Although the apartment was about a 5 minute walk from the reception building, this did not cause any problems for us, as the staff was just a phone call away. All the staff was very nice and helpful. They called a taxi for us a couple of times and the taxi arrived within 5 minutes. Since our room was facing the street, there was some noise at night when trucks or loud cars would drive by. But overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The city is very walkable from the hotel with many restaurants, sights and grocery stores close by. We would highly recommend Reykjavik Residence Hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Very sad I spent an awful lot of money with Expedia to become a gold member and purposely picked this hotel because of its VIP goal member reading and the extras that come with it hotel stated they know is true but they don’t do it

Stayed in “reception” house. Room decor was lovely and staff is excellent. Beds were uncomfortable. Problem was location of our suite - bedroom/bedroom windows opened to an actual outdoor hallway to other rooms. Super noisy and couldn’t open windows as a result. Room was loud and stuffy. Blam, blam all night and morning. The pre-ordered breakfast is best deal in town.

Great little apartment in central Reykjavik.

Breakfast baskets a super idea. The fresh bread delivered to your door handle in the morning was so tasty. Our accommodation in Rm 706 was immaculate, with a very good housekeeping service. We were in The Tannery building which we love, because we were out all day and didn’t need a room with a view. We would use this property again.
