I booked this room on the morning of our stay, knowing that I wouldn’t arrive until late that night. I called the hotel ahead of time to let them know this and the woman working said she would make a note on my reservation.
After having driven all day from Washington, my mom and I had hoped to get a good night’s rest before continuing on home the next day. We checked in around midnight. Unfortunately, (and in a very scary way), we were woken up at 1:30 in the morning by someone seemingly trying to bust through our door (thankfully the deadbolt and extra lock held), and this same person was pounding the door like he was a cop, shouting “security!” This went on for few minutes and we didn’t answer the door.
Obviously we were both startled awake, so my mom called downstairs and the woman at the front desk seemed sort of concerned, and called the “security” guard, and he left.
This morning we called down again when we woke up and we were told that they “were checking the vacant rooms.” I’ve never heard of this or been anywhere where this would be the case. We were both understandably uncomfortable and had a hard time getting back to sleep after this had happened, and the graveyard front desk person was only very minimally “helpful.” I had stayed here in the past and had no issues, that’s why I booked it.
But I most definitely will not be staying here ever again and would advise other women who are traveling to consider other options in the area.
