The room was spotless and beautiful. The property is absolutely charming. Everything is clean and beautiful and the staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. We wished we had stayed longer, it was a great place to relax.

Our stay was superb from start to finish. It’s such an iconic and magical place and we chose to stay for that reason. However the quality of our stay and the service we received exceeded our expectations. The building, gardens, bar and restaurant are superb. Breakfast and dinner were both of a very high standard and the staff are great too. Our room (15) with its own balcony overlooking the gardens was superb.

Our family really enjoyed staying at the Cardrona. Super comfy beds, steps away from the lovely garden bar and a soak in the hot tub was a lovely way to end the evening. A small fridge in rooms would be a good addition to make.

This place was AMAZING! The villas are great! Modern and clean, well equipped and comfortable! Great service, very laid back and relaxed while feeling upscale at the same time without any stuffiness whatsoever! I would definitely recommend staying here and would come back in a heartbeat! The staff members I interacted with were friendly and efficient. I had difficulty finding the hotel reception area and no one was there when I finally found it, though someone arrived quickly. It seems the restaurant and hotel were staffed by the same people and the restaurant held priority at that time of the day. The room was clean and had everything I needed. I appreciated the water heater and supplies for a morning cup of tea. The water in the shower was lukewarm and never got hot. My room was cold when I arrived. I was able to turn on the heater and it warmed up by the time I was ready for bed. The outside area is beautiful.

Cardrona was the loveliest hotel experience in 4 months of travelling Australia &New Zealand. Grounds were beautiful, room was clean and comfortable, food was excellent and staff were absolutey wonderful in how hospitable, helpful and friendly they were. You cannot go wrong if your are able to treat yourself to a stay at this wonderful hotel.

We stopped by this hotel on the way to Christchurch from Queenstown airport. About half an hour drive. I almost suspected that there was a hotel in the area where I did not see any houses. Then this hotel showed up. What a pleasant surprise to find thus fine hotel with beautiful garden which I think was comparable to the Botanic garden we went to the day after. The roses were gorgeous. We took quite some pictures in the garden the second day. Definitely a must see on the way to the east of Christchurch!
