The room was a bit sad. Cobwebs outside the windies. The whole hotel is a bit dilapidated and sad. We had a big spa bath in the room which only worked as a tub but my 11 yr old enjoyed it. The breakfast was ok but the coffee ma phone was broken . Close to hot spas though and lots of guests there

Lovely property with amazing views. Great hosts. Perfect breakfast. Close to lots of activities eg Waitomo, Tirau, Cambridge, Hobbiton but you need a vehicle.

Villa Walton is a must stay if visiting Matamata. Beautiful rooms and decor, delicious homemade food, immaculate grounds and exceptional hosts - Glenn was knowledgeable about the area, giving great advice on things to see, and made sure that we enjoyed our stay at both Villa Walton and Matamata.

The room was spotless, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are just incredible with lots of variety and everything that you can imagine. Was a very pleasant stay and would stay again no trouble.

My "balcony" door opened up to a shared wharf of random people looking around, and my room looked directly into the restaurant so people having dinner could see me in my room.
