Non-traditional, very comfortable, boutique hotel

Pros: Loved the fireplace, balcony, bathtub, bed. Loved that it didn't feel like a hotel.; you didn't access your room through reception.
Cons: Would be better if there were more options offered a la carte or if the menu selection changed daily or if there were simpler choices-"less fancy"
Location: Amazing location; close to small boutique wineries--eg. Piggs Peake (excellent), but away from the crowds of the big tour bus routes.
Excellent! Hotel staff made booking accommodation and all activities extremely easy with their concierge service. Very convenient to have a restaurant on site (Botanical) for breakfast as well as a wine-pairing degustation meal choice. An excellent way to be exposed to different wines/vineyards of the area. Overall nothing could be faulted: room, very clean cosy with comfortable touches to make you feel at home--welcome bottle of wine, 5 o'clock complimentary cocktail, candle lit on arrival. Wonderful!

Nice resort in the Hunter Valley

Pros: I liked the peace and quiet ...the wine and cheese!!! The rest...
Cons: The sofa and chairs are very uncomfortable....
Location: Location good....needs more things to do apart from visiting wine cellars!!,
We had a lovely time...what more do you want me to say .....it was great...we enjoyed ourselves....I thought it was actually overpriced....

Peaceful Retreat in the Hunter Valley vineyards .

Pros: The friendly welcome and escorted to the room . The open fireplace in the living area. The clean simple lines of the ,almost apartment style design .
Cons: There was something , but can't remember, too many positives .
Location: We came up the Hunter Expressway and entered at the top end of Hermitage road . Easy access to the wineries and Binnorie Cheese nearby .
We arrived on a dull wintry afternoon . A friendly welcome and escorted to our room . The first treat was the open fireplace in the living area, set and ready to be lit. The complimentary champers and nibbles on the balcony with the throw over rug was all that was required for a relaxing afternoon . A knock at the door ,around 6pm,the complimentary cocktails had arrived . The fire warmly crackling , the fireside was the place to be by this time . The heated bathroom floor led to the spa bath , a nice treat before dinner at the on sight restaurant , Botanica. We have eaten at many places in the vineyards and we would place Botanica in our top three, food wise and service. We had the gourmet breakfast delivered to our room the next morning and it did not disappoint. The fresh juice was particularly yummy and refreshing . We stayed two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay . I was not going to write this blog, never have before, wanted to keep it a secret , but everyone should experience Spicer's once or more.
