Ninh Thuan is both a natural and cultural paradise, and the two blend compatibly together. The gorgeous Vinh Hy Bay is a circular cove surrounded by rolling hills covered with lush trees that overlook calm water filled with boats in front of a sandy beach. You can rent glass bottom boats to check out the life beneath the waves. However one of the coolest things about Vinh Hy Bay is actually getting there. The bus ride will take you through white salt fields, swamps, mountains, and even past food processing plants alive with activity.
Not far from Phan Rang on the coast is Po Klong Garai, one of the best Cham towers left in Vietnam. As you walk up the grassy hillside, the old red bricks of its fence, archway entrance and the dazzling details of the two towers look perfectly at home in such a natural setting. You can sit and feel the stillness of this amazing province. Even Phan Rang itself moves at a dreamy pace, and if you dig below the surface, you’ll find a 30-year-old movie theatre sitting amidst the local architecture.
But just because you’re in a region that takes things easy doesn’t mean you have to settle for less when it comes to food – quite the contrary. All of Ninh Thuan’s seaside towns have seafood and also small local shops selling chicken rice, noodles and other delectable dishes designed to be savoured and enjoyed.
You can travel to Ninh Thuan by train from either Ho Chi Minh or via the National Highway No 1A. So wot are you waiting for? Catch a flight to Vietnam, and book into our Ninh Thuan accommodation for a serenely perfect beach escape.
