Beautiful Ski-in/Ski-out Chalet on Grandfathers Trail with Sweeping View

This is the lower unit of our ski chalet duplex with the best ski-in/ski-out on the mountain right onto Grandfathers Trail. The other side of the house has a sweeping gorgeous view of the sunrise, Green Mountain and greenbelt with creek below. Ten foot ceilings, an open floor plan, mountain decor, lots of warm wood and cozy furnishings provide a rustic-modern feel. The rental unit is accessed from your parking by one flight of stairs down to the door.

This ski chalet beautifully sleeps, dines and lounges 8 people. The large kitchen is thoughtfully designed and thoroughly furnished by a fantastic cook who loves to entertain a crowd. Radiant heat in the floor and a propane fireplace keep you cozy. The deck off the kitchen has a stunning view and is equipped with a large hot tub for 6 and propane barbeque. Two queen bedrooms and a bunk area for 4, all with cozy flannel duvets, make a perfect situation for two families or a group of 8.

The location feels high above the forest, inviting you to curl up in front of the fire and gaze out at the sweeping view as you unwind after a fun day of skiing/snowboarding, x-country skiing, skating, snowshoeing, tubing, or hiking. The chalet is well equipped with Wifi, a flat screen streaming tv, DVDs, games, puzzles, and books for your evening entertainment. We have sleds and snowshoes for you to borrow.

Just down the ski hill lies quaint Apex Mountain Resort Village with the Gunbarrel Saloon and Restaurant, The Mountain Shop for equipment, The Edge Bistro and Cafe, a new steak house, The Trading Post for groceries, beverages, sundries, a rental shop, and more. It all has a laid back family-friendly ranch feel. The mountain has something for everyone with incredible skiing and snowboarding with opportunity for lessons, an ice skating adventure loop and hockey rink, tubing, sledding, snowshoeing, world class nordic skiing, snow-mountain biking and snowmobiling. If you time it just right, you may even get to watch world class freestyle and racing competitions and events with athletes from around the world.

This vacation home is perfect for summer getaways as well. Please let us know if you would like to rent in the summer so we may unblock dates for you. The peaceful mountain setting, with sweeping view and a creek just below the deck, is lush and green with excellent hiking and mountain biking right outside the door. It is nicely situated a half hour drive above the summer heat of Penticton’s wineries and vineyards, beaches and boating, golf, shopping, spa services, movie theater, restaurants and more.

Gregg and Lisa’s place at Apex was beyond perfect. We stayed there with our kids and grandparents and had an amazing Christmas experience in December 2025. The views were spectacular, and the ski in and ski out was perfection. There is nothing like skiing in and out for a warm lunch at the most amazing hill around. Gregg and Lisa are the most welcoming and gracious hosts, who have literally gone above and beyond to make this the perfect vacation spot. There is an exquisite dining area and kitchen and very roomy living room with sweeping views of the trees and mountains. The beds are so comfortable and there is even two full bathrooms. Our boys absolutely loved the bunk room and made the cutest little hideouts to warm up and hang out in together after a ski day. The place had everything we needed and we enjoyed the giant dining table, games, easy laundry and of course the hot tub! Honestly, this place exceeded our expectations and we really hope we can return!

Lovely Ski Condo

Had a great stay at this location. Hosts were amazing, answered quickly to all questions and place was very clean. Listing is accurate to what you get, bunk beds don’t have a door but the other two rooms are great.Ski in and out was a little challenging with young kids but overall for intermediate skiers it’s and easy ride in and out.

Best spot on the mountain!

We have been coming to Apex for many years, for an annual ski trip with siblings (adults). Apex is a total gem in the interior, with great terrain and a small mountain village feel. This chalet is the best place we have stayed. Beautiful views, nicely furnished and has everything you could need. Ski in and out with ease and a short trek to the village centre. We had four adults, but this would be equally great for a couple of families as it is kid friendly. Hosts are friendly and super accommodating. Easy five star rating and easy to recommend.

Best ski weekend ever

Fantastic Vacation Home

Gregg and Lisa are extremely kind and helpful. Very responsive to my questions. The chalet is spacious and cozy with a fantastic view. We could observe a sunrise if the weather allowed. The big kitchen easily accommodates our 2 families - 4 adults and 3 teens. As our kids are beginners (one never skied before), we didn't let them ski in ski out. Even so, driving them to and from the lesson meeting place was within 2-3 minutes. Very convenient. We will definitely come back when we visit Apex again.

Beautiful well appointed suite

Gregg and Lisa were friendly and gracious hosts and spared no expense on the design and provisioning of their ski-in/ski-out suite. It has everything you'd need and more. The open concept space provides beautiful views and it couldn't be easier to get on and off the mountain. And after a day of skiing, the hot tub and comfy beds were perfect to recharge and hit the slopes again the next day!

Great Location and Fantastic Hosts

We had a excellent time at Apex at this location. Easy ski in - out off of Grandfather's Trail (a green). Were met upon our arrival by Lisa and Gregg with warm shortbread. They were helpful and informative and made our stay wonderful. The kids loved the access to the sleds after skiing. Unit is well stocked and has an extraordinary view down the valley from the living room and hot tub. Would definitely stay again.

Great Ski Trip

The space was really great for us (two couples and two teens). Beautiful views, great location. The highlight though was our hosts. They are so excited about Apex and the amazing things it has to offer and went above and beyond to make our stay great. We'll be back :)

We had a wonderful time in Apex! Snow was amazing and no line-ups! Family could ski right in for a quick lunch and then off again. The view from the rental was lovely. Thankful for the hot tub on deck after a long day (combined with that view). Communication & check-in with owners Gregg & Lisa was excellent. We loved all the little touches that made their place feel warm and welcoming: cozy flannel sheets on beds, lots of comfy seating in living room, a kitchen that had everything you needed, clean bathrooms fully stocked with essentials. Would recommend!

Lisa and Gregg are fantastic hosts! Their property is located next to grandfather's trail allowing easy ski in and ski out. The property itself is beautiful with lots of well-thought through details in the kitchen and elsewhere, which makes the unit feel like home.

Family fun at Apex

Great Family trip in a great place. Lots of room for visiting playing games and of course cooking and eating. Everyone loved the hot tub after a full day on the mountain.
