This hotel in right across the street from the Ferry Port. Of course being at a port is not always the best neighborhood. It was ok but the hotel is very nice and we certainly did not feel unsafe even when just the girls went out together. The problem I had with the hotel was that the bathroom was very dark, painted all black and had two light bulbs in the center of the ceiling. It was impossible to put any makeup on in there. There was a full length mirror in the room but still not great light there either. The other issue I had was that there was a hair dryer in the bathroom but no plugs! There are a couple of plugs in the bedroom but not one near the mirror. The room was very big and had everything, Micro, fridge, stove, sink and more. It had multiple glass doors so there was no problem with any noise from the ferry. I think this is a great hotel, if you don't use makeup or have to style your hair with help of a hair dryer. They had nice a breakfast but the eggs and meats that should have been hot were not at all.

Across the road from the Ferry terminal and 10 minute walk from the Cruise Ship terminal. Rooms modern, clean, large and with kitchenette. Only one room key card is issued which is difficult when two are sharing . Staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of options for breakfast outside hotel as quite expensive. Roof top bar ( happy hour 4-5pm) excellent viewing for beautiful sunsets.

We booked to stay here the night before our cruise - the port is across the street so that is the only bonus - At the end of our cruise we reserved two more nights and paid thru the Hotel Kon Tiki website - on check in they wanted our credit card for payment - we paid almost $800.00 We ended up only staying the one night since the area around the hotel is not nice, smells like urine, lots of homeless people, loud bars and it is not a safe environment - lots of police presence - We checked out one night early (and understood we would not receive a refund - which is fine) so to be double charged and the hotel not refunding us is wrong and dishonest. This hotel is not nice, and staff is not honest - pay a bit more money and go to one of the resorts just outside of the main Pateete town. DO NOT STAY HERE - or if you do ONLY PAY CASH -

Spotless, spacious room. Coffee maker ginds beans fresh for each cup!!! Large shower with a handheld spray. Yay. Rainhead too. Although the hotel could not promise early check in, i got my room about 3 hours ahead and waited in a delightful indoor/outdoor area one level up.

Watch out the extra charge for storing luggages

We stayed at the Kon Tiki Hotel in Tahiti and overall enjoyed our time there. The location is excellent — right across from the ferry terminal, which is extremely convenient. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, and the suite we booked was very spacious and included a kitchen, which made our stay very comfortable. However, one major downside was the extra charge for storing our luggage. Even though we stayed at the hotel multiple times during our trip — returning after visiting Bora Bora and Moorea — we were still charged a significant fee for leaving our bags there, which added up to over a hundred euros. This is something we have never encountered at other hotels around the world, especially when returning as repeat guests. It’s important for future guests to be aware of this policy, as it may come as a surprise. Apart from that, the stay was pleasant and the location hard to beat.

We checked in for one night after a 14 day cruise and also secured a day room in the same room due to a 9:30 pm flight. (We had previously stayed here one night prior to the cruise.) The staff was extraordinarily helpful, pleasant and cheerful. This is a very convenient location for cruisers—close to the terminal, shopping and restaurants. Plus, it’s right across the street from the ferry terminal and we took a day trip to Mo’orea and rented a car. There is nothing convenient at the terminal on Mo’orea—get a car or book a tour. The hotel is on the very busy main boulevard, but the rooms are very quiet and spacious.

The room was great and large. The main issue is that there is no parking at the hotel and there is also no place to stop outside the hotel to take the luggage into the hotel. There is parking away away from the hotel however, this is a bit inconvenient when there is no place to stop to unload. We arrived on a Saturday night and any parking nearby was taken because there is a rooftop bar which had a long line of young adults, waiting to go upstairs, and all parking spots adjacent to the hotel were taken.
