Oslo Holiday Packages

There are many ways to enjoy an Oslo holiday, whether you travel during the city's winter wonderland or its endless days of summer. This peaceful and scenic city offers fantastic Scandinavian views and a lively cultural scene in all seasons.

Things To Do in Oslo

Sitting on the northern end of the Oslofjord, Oslo is the beating heart of Norway. The city's main street, Karl Johans Gate, is filled with shops, cafes and lively street performers, capped off by the Royal Palace, the active seat of the monarchy, which you can tour in the summer. Or you can blast to Norway's past within the old stone walls of the Akershus Castle and Fortress, where you'll find two military museums and a fort. However, to discover Norway's Viking history, row on over to the Viking Ship Museum, Norsk Folkemuseum and Fram Museum, where you can walk through an actual Viking ship.

If art is more your style, visit the Edvard Munch Museum and the National Gallery, which features a strong collection of Norway's landscape artists. Further from downtown, you can explore more Norwegian art as well as the great outdoors. Gustav Vigeland's sprawling sculpture garden, Vigeland Park, is the largest in the world and draws natives and tourists alike. While you may be in one of the world’s greenest cities, to really experience nature, use an Oslo car hire to drive 20 km southwest to Semsvannet Lake, where you can enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing and swimming.

Shopping, Dining & Nightlife

Just a few minutes from downtown in the Aker Brygge neighbourhood lies the Aker Brygge shopping mall, Oslo's premier shopping spot. Fashionistas will find clothing and home designs to fill every need along Karl Johans gate, between the train station and Royal Palace. Feeling chilly? Walk south to the harbour and score one of Norway’s iconic Dale sweaters.

For the quintessential Norwegian dining experience, you’ll have to trust in cod. Tuck into any restaurant near the central harbour, and you’ll find fish fresh from the icy sea. In summer, tables spill onto the quays, offering great opportunities to people watch and view sailboats bobbing in the water. Aker Brygge houses many such establishments, and you'll find open-air restaurants along Karl Johans Gate facing Spikersuppa Park.

You won’t need that Dale sweater once Oslo's nightlife heats up. Check out Aker Brygge and downtown, especially the bars near Spikersuppa Park. Around the end of June, when daylight lasts into early morning, the entire city buzzes 24/7. The southern end of the Grunerlokka neighbourhood and along the Akerselva river are lively areas filled with bars and clubs that keep it going ‘til dawn.

Excellent altogether - lovely hotel with good amenities, particularly for the price point. We made use of the gym but the pool and restaurant area also looked great. Hotel bar was fairly priced with amazing views of Oslo. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Oslo.

Good hotel close to everything and public transportation to the city's central station. The room is great, the only problem is the air conditioning doesn't work very well and the windows don't open much (very little opening).
