Oriental NC Stay

Place was as described, but there was no television and no coffee pot. Owner gave us late checkout to 4 PM and let us use the propane tank onsite.

Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities
This property has huge potential, but the owners have no interest in taking their business seriously. Its clear that maintenance/repair was substandard. Bare minimum to keep the place within threshold. Highlights of our stay: -The front door had an extended weather stripping attached with an oversized doorknob which will absolutely take a chunk out of your knuckle during regular use. If you’ve had this happen, you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about. -The shower curtain does not stay up, we had to shower with out it… we also had to use our personal towels for the floor to shower without dumping water everywhere and slipping. Curtain rods $10 @walmart. -The tub did not drain after our shower. Do I use toilet plunger? Simple fix for maintenance, not client. Quick trap cleaning with a Home-Cheap-O snake by any amateur. Maybe worth integrating into turn-over checklist. -There was a dead cockroach floating in the un-drained tub the next day. I submitted photos to owner/manager, no response. -The entire lawn was over 1ft high. The mosquitoes and gnats were in heaven, which is ironically just hell for humans. Bushes/Vegetation completely overgrown everywhere. Doesn’t appear to be regularly maintained. Not sure why someone would list an unoccupied un-maintained home, We The People deserve/demand better for our hard earned money. In summary, this house is more of a money grab by someone seemingly either too ignorant, or too careless to take it seriously.
