We got there to be told that it was no longer Le Meridien. The hotel had been taken over apparently by the landowner company. All Le Meridien signage had been removed. One of the restaurants was closed permanently and completely. The main bar was also closed for the entire week we were there. The other restaurant was open for breakfast only. The beachfront restaurant was open until 4pm. But no dinner could be served except for Tapas, which was terrible. So there was no real ability to eat a proper dinner at the resort. Advertised was 3 fully operational restaurants!
Construction was taking place next to our room with constant drilling noise. The gym was partially closed off for other repairs. There were various other significant parts of the hotel taped off as if there was a crime scene or other no-go areas.
People were using the pool and sunbeds that were not even guests of the hotel.
The entire hotel was understaffed and didn’t have a concierge at all.
Upon complaint about the noise we were upgraded to a larger room in a different wing.
Extremely deceitful advertising and trade practices as when we paid the final account on checkout, it was on a Le Meridien letter head.
This is not just a complaint, it’s actually quite illegal and Wotif is also partly responsible for advertising the property as Le Meridien when it isn’t.
